What did you do to your GT350 today?

Cold dense air makes more power. Cold pavement with summer tires is a no no.

These cars do not do well in cold weather, especially temps below freezing. The engine oil will never reach proper operating temp leaving it not flowing enough throughout the engine. My car at 45° will barely have the oil reach 180° even after 30 minutes of driving. Let alone the oil pressure is usually near 120psi. I can't imagine what it'll do at 18°. You can do real damage to the engine driving in such cold weather.

You guys are waaayyy overthinking it. This car runs insane in cold weather. But you do you and I’ll do me. It’s not made of glass. And agree, 160-180 is pleeenntttyyy warm to drive the dang car.

A high of 22° today and I had normal ~200° CHT and 160° ish oil temp. That’s plenty warm to drive the car normally. This thing is an absolute beast in this cold. It’s as drastic as going E85. To not drive cause it’s cold is a crime.

I understood you were kidding and was surprised by the comments . . . I've also driven mine into the low 30s and the oil temp came up just fine and yes, it ripped like a scalded cat (do people actually scald cats??). I do have to watch the rear tires under, ahem, 'brisk' acceleration but once they spin a little, they grip fine (currently Yokohama AD09s).

Routinely drove my 2017 throughout the winter under 30*F as long as the roads were dryish. Started covering the oil and trans cooler openings with track tape, which did help raise oil temps a little, maybe 5-10 degrees.

Bought a gurney flap for the 2020 I just bought a few days ago. I’ve sworn off redheads and German cars for life now at 63. Shadow black, old man seats and Tech pack. Carbon fiber dash cover. 12k miles on it. It’s got square 295 35 Alpines on it. So by April I’ll need to get summer tires. For the test drive they felt pretty good on a cold day.

Thanks! I considered a new DH, but I hate the iPad dash and other aspects of it. I can see why it's such a slow seller. A dealer close to me had a 2025 DH with the Handling pack discounted close to 10K. Finally sold after 8 months on the lot.

As much as I want to see the Mustang brand continue to be produced and "evolve" with the times, I have really struggled with the S650 platform. While there are a few aspects to the body style that I like it is the complete move to tech (ie the touch screens), "Camaro-ish" look and the accelerated pricing that has really turned me off.
I was able to see a DH up close and in person at my local Ford Dealership last year and I have to say I was just not impressed, especially for a 70k sticker price. As capable as that car may be there is no way I would ever move from a 350 to that.

I agree. Too much tech tech, I get that at 63 I’m way past the optimum age for marketers…and that “kids” that have grown up with iPads and internet might like a dash like this….but no way I’m spending over 70k for something that is butt ugly. And driving tests with the usual YouTubers shows they do their best to like the DH but you can see it’s forced, cause if they don’t say nice things Ford won’t let them keep playing. Given the slow sales of it, I’m thinking a total redesign is on the way. Can’t fix a turd you flush it.

If you have a chance to drive a DH HP, I would recommend. It’s really good. It’s heavier than a 350 but you don’t feel the extra weight at all really.

Agree 100%. I even had my name on a DH, and when it came up I couldn’t do it. They where selling at MSRP by then, but was I over the Ember Blue; and still couldn’t get over the dash. Almost ordered a ‘25 GT PP1, because of cost savings, and was going to live with the dash until the ‘29 refresh; but order banks closed the day I went to do it. Took it as a sign and moved on. Shortly after, I started a GT350 search. About 4 months later, found the one for me; got here just before Thanksgiving. Hardly drove it so far, but love it.
