I know I'm a fussy pri.k, but I'm not unrealistic. I shouldn't have to clean up and rectify the mess and damage caused by the tradie at my own time and expense.
You gave me quite an enjoyable chuckle with that quote, Deyon and yes, there's a wee bit of truth in there..<BSEG> Even so, nothing wrong with being fussy and expecting a contractor to police the job site properly when finished.

My goto contractor for nearly any job here would water your eyes with his work ethic. When he leaves, you would be hard pressed to tell that he had ever been here but unfortunately, he is one in a hundred with the other 99 leaving the job site in various levels of shi tee condition so, you're not alone way down there on the other side of the world.

But here's the thing my Down Under Friend..try not to let it get to you, just chalk it up for what it is, a lousy contractor. Do the cleanup yourself , cuss the man out while you do, then fuggedabout the SOB and save his info so you never contract with him again.

Fresh paint looks good and I noticed you slyly kept your sign out of the frame of the photo. <grin>

Seriously though, if you are unable to quell the anger that is generated by events such as these, you might wanna talk to your family doc about a "happy pill." I did and it has reduced my own angry reactions to similar occurrences down to almost zero.

Hang in there and I for one am ever so glad you opted to rejoin us. :=)

Yeah, I try to keep it out, sets some people off.

I've been on them for years. I've always been short tempered, and a mixture of factors (including diabetes) has influenced my mental health.

Despite what all the experts, politicians and healthcare professionals will say publicly, men are expected to stay quiet on this issue. Put it this way, no one likes a whinger, especially when its coming from a male. And that right there keeps men from talking, they bottle it up for fear of being seen to be weak, a whinger. So, all the fluffy stuff you read or hear about in the media, like someone actually cares or gives a dam. It's just a show, basically "let's all be open about depression......................... just don't tell me about it". And people wonder why 75% of suicides are male.

I have come to somewhat of a revelation myself on that front, I myself have tried to get better :) While I still can't watch his videos, I have placed over 6 orders from OG in the last few weeks :) Hey, he has great stuff LOL... Now THOR, I gladly abstain from those guys :)

I got a liter of Touchless from Carzilla originally. But got a 5 liter from OG and a liter of Atom Mac. And got several Pressol squeeze bottles and labels for soaps. Made at least 3 orders for those... I really REALLY like the Pressol bottles.

Yeah as long as I dont have to hear him talk I am fine 🤣🤣🤣.

And I apologize if my hard stance against OG caused you grief... I have a tendency to be sensitive about things too and vote with my wallet. And I like what I like 🤷🤷

I'm a 'tradesman' that is inside peoples homes on a daily basis, was taught long ago 'the jobs not over until you pick up your tools and clean up the mess' as well as 'treat every home as if it were your own''. Can totally understand your frustration and the level of anger that comes from someone you trusted into your 'sanctuary' and they didn't show respect. Perhaps some of the recent added stress for you has been compounded by the loss of your beloved companion?

Earlier this week, we had a tradesman doing some work around the house. Well, I may have had a melt down over the state he left the worksite in.

First of all, he made an absolute mess in the driveway cutting concrete to install a fence post. So, there was concrete dust and debris everywhere, and concrete slurry splattered all over the fence and bins.................and my very expensive garden hose. Then the millions of little metal shavings left after cutting fencing slats to size. Naturally, mess is always a part of construction, I'm not totally ignorant of that. But to LEAVE the worksite like that after "finishing" the job is frustrating and just sloppy workmanship.

Then I discovered said fence posts had been dumped under my pressure washer, scraping the paint off the wall. And that became the catalyst to my melt down.

Unless the client specifically insists otherwise, I would never leave a jobsite in a worse state than when I had arrived. Afterall, they are paying me for a service. You can't show up, make a giant mess, jack up the owner's property, then pi.s off. I know I'm a fussy pri.k, but I'm not unrealistic. I shouldn't have to clean up and rectify the mess and damage caused by the tradie at my own time and expense.
Damn!

Definitely post reviews with before (if available) and after pictures. Maybe save some future victims. Any previous reviews have red flags?

I understand not demanding he "fix" things since likely you'd still be fixing the fixes.

If you paid after the job, how did that discussion go?

Like I have said many times I'm sure he is a good dude. But I CANNOT stand to hear his voice, I'm sure there are a lot of people that say the same about me 🥴🥴🤣🤣. So as long as I don't have to listen to him I'm fine. For Bilthamber and Pressol stuff I'll continue. For anything else, I have other sources. The Clean Garage, and ADS proper as well as Sky is the Limit for Carpro.

I get it. I can’t stand watching DIY Detail as Yvan’s smugness rubs me the wrong way. He’s got a lot of experience and know-how but listening to him speak irritates me.

Ever since he joined THOR and started his own brand he's gotten way worse. Now he truly is "Pan the Advertiser" and its just for his own product line.
Shows you how much I know about the detailing game as a whole. I had no idea he joined that company. I just use this thread for recommendations since none of you are bought and paid for. I figure if normal dudes like me are using stuff and recommending it, it's worth a try.

I agree. That dude is ridiculous annoying . I count him as part of the THOR (The House of Rags) crew. Along with Eddie, Jamie, and Josh...
