Where do you draw the line at big power? DCT can handle up to 1200 hp without any issues. 1000 hp all day long. You don't want that to be the only option .. it doesn't handle big power well.

no just an option. I wish my 350 had it honestly. You don't want that to be the only option .. it doesn't handle big power well.
I can see a reason to want it. I think there are better options out there as far as DCTs go. Tremec should make some alterations to it and make it stronger like the manual option for the C8.no just an option. I wish my 350 had it honestly.
How often will it over heat and go into limp mode at 1000?Where do you draw the line at big power? DCT can handle up to 1200 hp without any issues. 1000 hp all day long.
Mine is at 1000 and never over heated or gone into limp mode. The issue i had before i switched to a whipple was heat soak from the factory supercharger and it would pull power. If the DHSC has dealt with the cooling then it is an improvement over the 500. The main issue with the DCT is it lays an egg from a dig. 60 foot times at a drag strip are an issue. Besides that I have not heard of the overheat. I know several issues with launching have been noted. You may be right but not something i have personally encountered. The DCT is a track transmission and not ideal for the drag strip. Guess i am saying it depends on what you are going for using the car. Roll racing and track the DCT is not a bad option with 1000 hp. Drag strip it definitely lacks. How often will it over heat and go into limp mode at 1000?
It's a well documented problem.
Drag strip and Track I have seen them go into limp. You're saying a 10K supercharger solved your problem? Doesn't seem like a Reasonable deal to fix the issue but I don't know for sure.Mine is at 1000 and never over heated or gone into limp mode. I would say it has to be tunable. The S650 is and the same engine on the 500 is. So my guess is that it will be tunable. If not, will not be long.Drag strip and Track I have seen them go into limp. All I'm saying is that the package leaves a lot to be desired. Is it tunable yet?

You were making good points until that.If anyone thinks that Ford will build a mid engine car that current or former Mustang owner can afford, that would be delusional.
I just don't think that a mid engine Ford would be affordable for most of the us that own a Mustang today aside from a GTD or GT. Unless someone knows something different. The 2005/2006 Ford GT was the last mid engine V8 Ford made and that was $140k with a $100k ADM on most. You were making good points until that.
Totally subjective and not to say that I am one of those people, but there are also folks that care less about actual drag racing because they are not going to a drag strip to do it.nobody cares about ring times except nerds
Plenty of them do.Totally subjective and not to say that I am one of those people but there are also folks that care less about drag racing. Track closings have and will continue to happen. And let's be real, most people on these forums who talk about drag or roll racing are not going to a track to do it.
The GT350 idolization is hilarious. It’s not that special, and the DH/M1 have already shown to outperform it. It’s still a Mustang with an unreliable motor. The GT500 is on a different level.Yup, the DH and Mach1 both fell short of the GT350, and in a recent race, of all 3 in manual trim the GT350 was a clear winner. I kind of understood them not wanting the "Mustang" Mach1(which lets be real was mostly the Bullitt and PPL2 packages combined and a few Shelby bits added in) to not pass the Full Ford Performance GT350 yet, but that excuse does NOT exist for the Dark Horse. They simply dropped the ball on that. Maybe if they didn't give it that stupid semi-glass eye liner and waste money on un-needed upgraded internals they could have given it the 20-30HP more it should have had to put it over the GT350 and properly establish a name for itself. Instead, it just became a good reason to get a GT350 or Mach1.
