Why do you say that N/A the stock pistons wont be up to the task (as long as he doesn't rev it to the moon)?
I didn't say that. :) Since it's the only weak point under 700whp, it's a good piece of mind IMHO.

Hi folks

Do you have any recommendations regarding the best pistons / rods for a Coyote gen 3, that is intended to remain naturally aspirated? The target is about 500-550 hp. No need for 2000 hp.

The following criteria should apply:
- price does not matter
- as light as possible
- as long lasting as possible
- cylinders will be Darton sleeved

Thank you and regards
The Stock pistons and rods are more than good enough. Just gap the rings to match whatever you need and throw in some arp rod bolts and you are good. You can even lighten up the stock parts if you want ceramic coat the pistons.

I would not worry about sleeves. Stock block or a gen3 3.7 bore block. Then arp rod bolts and lighten the rods. If you feel you need a forged piston get a 4032 forged piston. They are lighter than 2618. But they will still be much heavier than stock. Stock pistons are strong. I have never seen a stock piston fail on its own. It is always a ring that causes it. A stock piston with some coating will be the lightest and plenty stronger.

Know it's an older post, but just checking in to see if OP made a choice?

Planning on spinning a Gen3 up to 10,000 myself so light weight everything is going to be some what a must...

But due to intake manifold limitations I'm not entirely sure if it'll go ahead that far... am eyeing off innov8's ITB setup though 🤔

Just start calling builders who build and rebuild these engines every day. Capaldi, MPR, RPG, etc...im not saying OP isn't a wizard with these engines, but I'd prefer more data points from a builder than a few faceless people on the Internet.

Not based in the US, so picking brains to compile info. I'd messaged a few places like RPG etc for any assistance but got no response.

Don't want to import because the freight is insane, getting a calimer mt82-d4 sent over here was bad... but "if" anything went wrong in the build i wouldn't be able to front another 2 way trip to sort it out
