Hello guys,
Well I have officially sold off my 2017 GT and I will be on the market for a 21-23 Mach 1 in a month or two. I have noticed getting one with exactly the specs I want will likely end up not being in my backyard. I have never had a car shipped before, so I wanted to get some advice or maybe some info on a company that does it, and maybe what I would be looking at paying for getting a car shipped. Thanks guys!

Here ya go, I too was once in your position …. And after I posted my initial thread with a similar question, I also posted my updated response in it for my experience this way others could know what to expect and how to shop for a shipper/carrier:

Good info in attachd above.
We used Reliable to ship our car to and from SA in Vegas. Everything went great. Drivers treated car excellant, took pics before and after, pointed out any issues on pickup. Little on the pricey side but top notch equipment and service. Just my 2 cents

I've done it twice and had a very positive and very negative experience. For the most part they're all brokers and sub it out. It's more expensive for enclosed but I'd highly recommend that (if for no other reason then they'll pay more attention). Definitely get the insurance; it was a huge hassle but I was made whole for the damage with the poor experience.

Is there a reason why you wouldn't consider flying to the car and driving it home?
I'd personally be more comfortable that way than buying it sight-unseen and shipping it too.

I drove my previous 2003 Cobra from Texas to Ca I’m open to it at a reasonable distance. But I see a lot of great Machs on the east coast and stuff I don’t think I’d wanna go fully across the country with it. Especially if a buy one with like 5k miles.

I've used Reilable for a CA to MI transport. They weren't cheap, but were very professional and thorough. Would use them again.

Congrats JP. This will be a nice upgrade and I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Was it somebody on this site? I’ve been considering selling my Mach 1. I just don’t drive it enough.

Hey! Sorry I missed this. It was my friends son who bought it from me. He loves it, its bone stock now and drives so smooth. It was a good reminder of why my next Mach 1 is gonna stay pretty much stock.

my experience as well. shipped 4 cars out but never received and have done 3 wakeboats shipping both in and out. all were brokered off of a shipping website. all went smoothly but pickup and dropoff had to be "on call" for whenever the truck got into town.

crappy thing about shipping is if the car comes with spare parts, most transports won't pick it up if the car has stuff in it. all the ones I used required the vehicle to be empty. wakeboats were different as they were all transit-wrapped and could not access the interior.

I almost drove my 2003 home from just one state away....

But then I got it, plugs were gapped wrong, a vacuum hose wasn't connected, pinion seal was leaking and driveshaft was vibrating, alternator pulley was touching a coolant hose...glad I got it shipped instead. Would have ended up getting it towed either way!
