So I am looking at ordering a set of velgen wheels early next year and I need advice and have questions.

I see two options for the classic v2s. 20×9.5/20x10.5 and the 20x10/20x11.

I am currently running 255/40/19 tires. The car is currently lowered running the ford track pack suspension.

Both options are a staggered setup as far as the rims go, I believe, and I'm not sure what I'd be looking at for tire size.

Car is daily driven in the summer, rain or shine, and ive been looking at conti sports for tires.

Sonim just looking for some advice from others that are running velgen rims and what tires size, etc, etc.

Any info , thoughts , or suggestions are welcome. Please inform me.

For the first set, I’d run 275/35 and 295/35. Second set, I’d run 275/35 and 315/30. I currently run 20x10 and 285/35 all the way around and have been contemplating going with 20x11 in the rears. 275/35 and 315/30 are very close in terms of matching diameters. Should be just fine as far as clearance with the FP track springs too

I have the Classic V2 in 20x10 and 20x11 with 285/35 and 305/35 Conti ExtremeSport 02. I also have the Velgen VF5 in 20x10 and 20x11 with 275/35 and 305/35 drag radial set-up. The Conti tend to run narrower, so the 285/35 Conti is the same width as my 275/35 tire.

The classic v2s are exactly what I'm going for. Good to know about the contis because that's what I was planning on putting on these.

How's the fit in the rear with those? Any big poke or anything with the 305s?

Honestly I can't wait till I get them on the car. Thats what I'm going for but in gloss black.

Sorry but I think they look so sexy. Props to you vibe for these wheels.

Do yall recommend doing a ceramic coating on them? Before or after mounting?

Yes. Do it after the tires are mounted and balanced but before you put them in the car so you can coat the barrels too

Absolutely on the ceramic coating. If you do it before mounting, I would wait at least a week, maybe two before mounting as you will need to do some clean up afterward (clean off the mounting lube and stuff), I would probably wait til after if it were me, give the weights a better chance of sticking properly. Then just do a good clean, prep wipe and coat. My go to is Armour Detail Supply wheel coating. Great stuff... :) Did several sets with it in the past...

As others have said, do the coating after mounting otherwise you’ll be cleaning the wheels twice and the weights might not stick well to the coating.
