Reset was like that in the early days, but they changed the formula when foam cannons really took off. With a heavy concentration (100 - 150ml), Reset will FOAM like no tomorrow. You should still get great foam with 60 - 80ml though, so perhaps check that the mesh screen in the foam cannon is not blocked.............................and that you have the top adjuster wide open, its easy enough to bump.

Incredible Suds is a fantastic soap. The formula has recently been updated to reduce the thickness of the soap without hampering foam quality. They also revised the label as the original had the dilution way too rich (labels are expensive to change, so they had to rely on customers reading the website descriptions or via reviews).

Mike G explains it in the below video (just note that was a paid review) -
Weekend Wash with DIY Detail Incredible Suds Type 2 Car Shampoo

Incredible Suds is also slightly alkaline, which is why it cleans quite well. I also loved the free rinsing properties. Overall, I really liked using Incredible Suds, however there are a few reasons why I no longer stock it.

Firstly, it's just too expensive in Australia, $34.95 for 473ml (16-oz) or $179.95 for 3.78 Lt (1 gallon). For perspective, Carpro Reset is $25.95 for 500ml and $134.95 for 4-litres, and it's the better soap by far.

Secondly, I really don't care for the business ethics and general attitude of the DIY brand and wider THOR group of companies......................very cult like and not something I want to support. There is a reason why Armour Detail Supply moved away from the THOR group. (THOR - The House Of Rags).

Unlikely, the MTM remains one of the leaders in this space and I don't see any reason to add the ADS version into my artillery.
I tend to agree with you there on the THOR group. Much like OG (sorry, not sorry), I do not ever intend to spend a dime with them. TRC, Sky is the Limit (CARPRO), or the Clean Garage are my go's to if I have to use a broad "retailer" of detail supplies. I typically buy ADS direct though, sometimes even from Amazon (prime shipping is nice, next or 2 day :) ) ...

Sorry for all the quotes, gents..

F22.2 comes with a 1.25 orfice out of the box.
Funny Alex, but I'm rapidly diminishing memory chips told me it was a 1.25 but I just wasn't sure..thanks.

Runny actually works better most times, pulls the dirt off better in my opinion.
Kind of what I always thought, sort of like soaking dishes. If you only have soap bubbles on the dirty dishes, they won't "soak" while wet, soapy dishes will. Sorry for the BS analogy.

so perhaps check that the mesh screen in the foam cannon is not blocked.............................and that you have the top adjuster wide open, its easy enough to bump.
I will D but pretty sure I have it wide open and I do get pretty thick foam with 80ml which is what I usually use in a bottle.

Carpro Reset is $25.95 for 500ml and $134.95 for 4-litres, and it's the better soap by far.
Once again, I wish I could conjer up a spell to make AU prices the same as here.

Well, that's all I needed to read, I could have saved a lot of time. <chuckling>

My only complaint (and one of the reasons I was considering the ADS cannon,) is the the spray angle knob chingasso which can get moved far too easily on the PF22 and since the ADS (and others he demo'd) have the "click" version of the knob, I was interested. It seems I regularly have to reach up and twist the PF22 knob back to wide open after pull the trigger and getting a pencil-sized "lance" spray.

The other was how the dry foam from Incredible Suds stuck to that test panel. But as I convinced myself above, dry foam is not gonna do a helluva lot of cleaning compared to wet, drippy foam. And after you gave us the background on the soap company, I lost interest immediately. It's funny Deyon but you save us all a ton of money but then you always convince us to spend more with your top picks. <chuckling again>

It's kinda like our salt concrete pond. Dump 80 pounds of salt into the water on startup and the "salt cell" that creates chlorine gas from the salt via electrolysis drives the pH through the roof so you have to dump pints and pints and pints of acid into the water to neutralize the pH. Finally, after all that acid, you wind up having to dump pounds and pounds of sodium bicarb in to bring the total alkalinity back up. A vicious circle if I ever saw one. <laughing>

Have a great Sunday my friends.

I shall check that screen D but I think it's probably clean because the foam is very thick with Reset, just a little runny but y'all have convinced me that Incredible Suds is not for me, especially if it smells like purple Koolaid. <grin>

Rainy here today. Got half the lawn mowed yesterday before a cell moved over the house and soaked everything. Probably won't get out there today either since the weather guessers are saying the probability of more precip is a hundred per cent.

Nonetheless, you really are saving this form my friend. I don't know when you joined but if it was before 2020, then you saw just how hopping this place was. Now, every time I pull up the main page and see zero posts, it kinds breaks my heart. There were some great folks here and it was exciting waiting for the new 500 to be released.

Unfortunately that’s the reality of a car generation that is no longer in production. Still lots of S550’s on the road and being purchased second, third, fourth hand (and more), but I think car enthusiasm in the younger generations is slowing (or changing to a different car platform). The younger folks seem to be into cars for the social media clout, not the cars themselves. Thus, the increase in the takeover BS over the last handful of years as platforms such as TikTok, Twitter, etc. really started taking off. And don’t get me started on the YouTubers that destroy cars for views, what an absolute waste.

You should be able to upgrade the o-ring on the PF22.2 to tighten up the rotation. Cars with Kiev does this quite often so I’d check his channel out for how he does it.

You hit it on the nail head ... I'm 70 , we go back in time to when I was 14 my first car 1962 Impala 2 door 283 PG , all us guys ( and the majority in the 60s and 50s and my Dad's era back from WWll were machinical in mind , and I or we learned from our Dad's Uncle's or older neighbors. ) were exposed to the car culture . I was under the car with my Dad handing him wrenches ECT. I think the oil embargo of the early 70 s had a big part in killing the hobby . It still didn't stop us late baby-boomers, but the generation x were into the first video games at home and the boom of arcades . Economics also played a big part as in the mid to late 80s seen the massive Offload of American Blue collar factory jobs , which I was and a good percentage of baby boomers were , that loved or loves the Car Culture. We are getting thin to a point of extinction.
You can see it in the drop of attendance in motorsports NASCAR ,NHRA . The car culture is still alive but not to what it was . Sorry I read MAGS1 and it hit home , I will Delete if this isn't proper . I'm new to this Platform of Forums stuff.

Once bitten, twice shy.

I love Sandro, he's a genuine guy and I've learnt a lot from him via his videos and in person. Just keep in mind he subcontracts for the company that recently took the Mirch brand into their store.

Car Care Products - Car Cleaning Wax & Polish - Car Detailing – Waxit Car Care
MIRCH – Waxit Car Care

I'm not suggesting anything with that remark, just me being able select what I see as gospel, what I see as subjective, and what I feel is marketing. For example, he was being quite complimentary of the Carpro leather products, which I found absolutely terrible. As for Mirch, I think the notion of being patriotic toward a brand just because it's made in your country can cloud judgement. This is something I've noticed with American's, you guys are soooo patriotic, which is fantastic as it makes you who you are, but it can also be blinding. What I'm trying to say is, just because something is made locally doesn't automatically mean its brilliant. I hope that makes sense.

I absolutely hate that as well.

MTM with the PF22 had THE benchmark foam cannon for a very long time. I really like them and they work well for me. However...........................when you are a leader in your industry, you kinda have to assume that your competitors are working hard to make something better. That means you have to stay ahead of the curve. Well, MTM have sat on their hands while competitors have gone on to make improvements to their foam cannons, to the point where MTM no longer have a clear advantage.

Yes, the wide mouth kit that MTM implemented was a clever way of improving the functionality of their product without having to completely redesign it. Some complained it was a band aid, but I actually prefer the twist-lock action compared to having to wind the bottle onto the cannon like the Griots (and others). But WHY have they left that stupid spray angle adjustment so loose? Why is the top dial so vague in its movement? Why does the bottle not have clear measurement markings? Why does it leak if turned upside down? Again, these are things the competitors have begun improving on, and here we have the supposed industry leader sitting back and letting the competition run away with the show.

The one to watch is The Rag Company, who unveiled a range of pressure washer accessories at SEMA. These are NOT just a TRC logo stamped on a generic foam cannon, gun, wand and nozzle.............................they are clean-sheet, ground-up products designed in house. That means there are no legacy hang ups, so all of the "quirks" have been addressed.

A few notable improvements -

- The gun has full stainless-steel internals. The fabled Obsessed Garage Mosmatic has brass to save on cost.

- The gun inlet swivel is integrated into the body of the gun, as per the OG Mosmatic. This saves bulk at the connection.

- The gun has a trigger lock, which I think is a first.

- The gun and lance have soft touch rubberized touch points.

- There is an integrated nozzle holder on the side of the gun.

- The 1/4-inch connect on the gun outlet is a push to seat arrangement, which means you don't have to pull back on the connector to install a nozzle, foam cannon or lance.

- The foam cannon has detent clicks for the spray angle, likewise the top dial.

Apparently these items will be "affordable" and should hit the TRC site early next year. I'm probably going to buy the gun, it's probably the first time a company has designed one of these guns specifically for the detailing enthusiast rather taking a catalog item and altering it to suit (which is how the SGS28 and OG Mosmatic came to be).

Definetely makes sense. I am VERY patriotic, but I will buy whatever works :) I don't see myself buying any Mirch anytime soon :) And I agree, I have not tried the CARPRO leather stuff, but I don't care for their Inside, so interior stuff they don't have on lock (other than Inner QD).

BUT I was able to get a liter of Bilt Hamber Touchless thru Carzilla last week. Its taking forever to get here from Canada (since I am not ordering from OG), but that is OK. I have wanted to try Touchless for a while now. Now to figure out the PIR bull $#!T.. No thank you, I am gonna mix it like I always do, if it is runny so be it. :) If I have to mix at 4:1, I guess I can try it a couple of times before I run out :)

I can only speak for myself as an American but patriotism means one thing and one thing only…the survival and enhancement of our values and way of life. But, I also have 23 years of military service so I may be a bit biased in that regard.

“Made in America” is a catch-phrase that usually means “more expensive” but, it has its place for some sectors of invention and commerce. But if a better product is made in Germany, Italy, Japan, or hell…even China 😱 I’m not going to whine about it.

One final note, don’t let news channels, TikTok, facespace, or X influence how you view American patriotism. I know way more people with my attitude than ones who fit the mainstream media’s narrative.

I’m interested in their spray gun as well. But, it’s still the same old, same old…with minor enhancements.

I never touch the dilution knob on cannons, I don’t even know why they keep it. I’d rather have a variable orifice knob to change flow/psi.

MTM is old news now as you said. They made good products, but they fail to innovate and are being left behind. I like what Nix/ADS has done with their bottles. Taken all the good ideas and put then together into one package. Do we need a stainless head? Nope, unless you work in a salty or corrosive environment. So nickel plating is fine. No leak head, quick lock lid, and clickable adjusters and you’ve pretty much nailed all the good things.

My Craftsman gun has a trigger lock, although it doesn’t always function properly.

I resisted Touch-less because of that stupid PIR calculation. However, I would urge you to do the PIR test for two reasons.

1 - If you just do a typical foam cannon dilution, you probably won't see it work properly. The whole idea of Touch-less (and take note that it's touching less, not completely touchless) is that you have it work away at grime without having to agitate. I found that simply guessing a dilution had the product not doing a single thing. Why? Because my pressure washer was over diluting it, rendering it useless. The whole concept of the PIR calculation is to account for varying application methods and varying pressure washer outputs.

2 - If you over-dose the ratio, you significantly increase the risk of causing damage to plastic trims. I have had it do this before, and even the OG man himself found this out the hard way, destroying the trim on his prized low mile M3 and brand-new Tesla. In his case, that was at the full 2% PIR and after being left a little too long on the car. Knowing how well you keep your cars, the 1% PIR will be more than effective, and I suggest keeping an eye on it while on the car.

I know you don't like OG, but they have a PIR calculator on their website, meaning all you have to do is measure the output of your foam cannon and pressure washer into a bucket, then punch the numbers into the calculator. This is a one-time job, from there you can work out several PIR percentages to suit your needs, write it on the gallon and your set until something within your system changes.

These numbers are based on a Kranzle KHD10 with 10+ litres per minute (2.64+ GPM). Prior to Touch-less v2, I was having to use it undiluted in the foam cannon as the pressure washer was flowing too much.

IMG_2621.jpg

IMG_3305.jpg

Finally, take note that in any PIR or dilution, Touch-less is a runnier foam than you may expect. This is by design as they want it to fall down the panel as it dissolves dirt. I'd also suggest rinsing upwards, trust me here, it may sound counterproductive, but it seems to work better if done this way.

In Australia, the idea of "Australian Made" is supposed to be a byword for quality and the support of Australian jobs. However, that usually comes with a significant price premium, one that many Australian's are not prepared to pay. That is assuming you can find something Australian made, and if you do, how much of it fully native to this country and not just assembled from Chinese parts.

The thing is, the most vocal and supposedly patriotic Australian's have their values based around flawed criteria and poor awareness as to what is actually made here. "I will never support Chinese made xyz", well good luck with that because almost everything you buy comes from there or started life there. For example, Massport lawn mowers............an AU/NZ brand that actually has its products either fully made in China or components made in China but assembled in AU. All of this is the result of buying patterns demanding cheaper products. So, what are companies left to do? Find a way to give customers what they want while remaining profitable. If that means shipping production to China, Thailand, India.......................well, so be it.

When it came to cars no longer being made in Australia, well that was the result of a thousand cuts. But the most vocal on this topic never actually bought brand new Australian-made Falcon's, Territory's, Commodore's, and Camry's. Instead, they bought them on the second-hand market, usually ex-fleet or ex-lease cars. Ford, Holden and Toyota make brand new cars and need to sell brand new cars to stay in business. So, jo-average buying a heavily depreciated 24-month-old vehicle is of no use to these car companies. Oh, but "strong demand on the second-hand market fueled sales of new cars"......................yeah, kinda, but not really. Ford, Holden and Toyota soaked up excess factory volume by dumping these cars into fleets at heavy discount. What they really needed was private sales, which are more profitable. If the private buyer isn't buying new cars, well........................................

I think being patriotic meant something when the world was far less connected. These days, its virtually pointless.
