Interestingly, Ford rang me on my way home to offer me another plan (which would be year six onwards) - if they send me anything interesting I will post it up :like:

Well they sent me a quote, I questioned a few things (in writing, purposefully), they responded (in writing).

3 x Services (6, 7, and 8), 3 x MOT’s for £1220.67

Given the prices quoted a few posts above (£1400 for two services and an MOT), I didn’t think that was too bad.

Other things I also considered, and / or had confirmed :
  • Year 8 does include the plugs.
  • It includes the stamps for the body checks.
  • I can pay monthly (no extra fee).
  • Fixed cost - no inflation.
  • I can keep my full service and MOT history with the supplying dealer.
  • I’m lucky, I get great service from the tech who works on my car (the only one who’s ever serviced it / MOT’d it / done any warranty work on it).
  • I think I'm unlikely to use this, but 10% on tyres and accessories.
I’ve signed up :like:

So 1 to 3 I was on a deal. 4 and 5 was on my own (I got really lucky with the cost on 4). 6 to 8 I’m back on a deal :like:

That is pretty good TBF. £400 a year on average incl MOT and if can pay monthly then even better. Which Ford dealership in case I need to use them as an example 🤔

That's the way I looked at it, £400 per year, service, body stamp and MOT, interest free monthly payments :like:

It's the Bristol Street / Vertu group :

From the top of the quote :

From the bottom of the emails :

The communications have also come from a Vertu email address :like:

had i had to change both of my keyfobs twice and I was using brand name batteries. Damned keyfobs were a pain to separate as well

Not something done with my mustang today, but for reassurance I did the right thing getting a naturally aspirated V8 - not that I needed any reassurance as when I fire her up that's all I need - but an interesting read anyway...

mmmm my own experience is somewhat tainted but either way a quad cam quad VVT engine is not a simple engine by any definition. Granted less to go wrong as no turbos hanging off the side of it begging to have the boost upped.

Pity the GM engine failure article is underneath then underneath that a 10.4 litre V8 with 1000horses. Oh my

A friend of the wifes Husband works in a local Ford dealership, he reckons they rarely go wrong. The only ones they have had trouble with are usually abused or neglected. Apparently the early ones had some rust issues but the later ones seem to be OK. One he was telling me it comes in twice a year for a service and it averages close to 20k miles a year and all they ever do is service it.

for sure anything abused is more likely to go phut, I was just unlucky as apart from exhaust and oil interwarmer removed mine was stock and serviced ever year, didn't do too many miles (covid / work from home) There are a tonne of examples of folks on here going 100k with just dealer servicing so yeah reliable.

I think in general forced induction cars tend to have more issues because it's very easy to turn up the boost and then turn it up again. Then folks wonder why they go pop

Hi all
Had a check engine light come on and it seems to be code P2453
Searching online apparently it’s particle sensor and the on another thread the owner had to order new ones as the fault seems to come back after clearing it.

I have cleared it for now to see if it comes back but booked an appointment as well.

if anyone had any information or similar experiences it would be great

I cleared the fault on ODB and seems to have gone now after a short journey in town and a few starts. Will monitor but guess it will come back soon.
