Imo the name change implies a much more narrow focus. Ford Performance offered the top the line for many of their vehicles. All three of my Ford cars are Ford Performance. Not sure they'll be offering an Explorer ST in the future with a Ford Racing door sill plate on it which I suppose is a good thing. In the future however, in the pipeline of cars Ford will offer, some of them will not be 'racing' level cars but will be higher performance than the base or mid level of whatever model. Ford Performance was more broad.

Personally I think it was a mistake for this reason. You don't build a legacy by changing logos and departments when you've steadily been building brand and name recognition for the better part of ten years. It's a huge waste of money as well.

I’d be shocked if the Explorer ST goes away. At least the 2 dealers I buy from and talk to, they are their #2 seller after the F-150 and Ford makes a pretty penny off of them. May not have a Ford Racing sill plate, maybe ST sill plate? I’m probably ordering a 2026 ST for my wife this winter, it’s a blast to drive. What I was told by both dealers is that the Platinum line is losing the V6 option for 2026 and an Explorer Tremor is coming and will be V6 only like the ST (ST isn’t going away). The Tremor will be off-road focused.

I read this statement to mean that Ford will be taking their race learnings and applying it to their performance vehicles that are available to consumers. That’s the way it should be. Could they do that under Ford Performance? Sure they could. I think Ford feels they’re in need to change things up, hit the refresh button so to speak. It’s something every company goes through to try to appeal to new customers while still maintaining their existing base. It’s a fine line to straddle at times.

Wow! After decades you can still wear the same jacket. I'm impressed.
Very, VERY cool jacket!

As for the ability to get into old clothes, I'm pretty sure that the choker whites I wore on commissioning day back in '77 would still fit. :=)

Well since my swearing in, in 77, the only thing that hasn't changed is the length of my pants. Even my head got bigger.

And to think it’s only been 24 hours since I’ve been sweared at. The day is young.

I wonder if Ford all of sudden switching to Ford Racing has anything to do with GM officially entering F1 with a full blown Cadillac Racing team?

I just want them to fix the 10 speed transmission!
MAKE A BETTER PRODUCT.
I could care less about the name change.

The new 10 speeds are flawless, I haven’t even heard of a single one have an issue in all of the 8-900HP whipple cars

Secondly, regarding this post..

I went to brandsoftheworld dot com and seached on "Ford" to see if they have released any changes. After perusing the images there, I didn't see anything that has changed. Maybe those new nerds haven't arrived at BOTW yet. :=)
No one out nerds me. :)
