So driving with a 6 speed I’m one handing the wheel all the time. The wheel is too slim and the leather is slippery. Anyone switch to an alcantera wheel? Will the GT500 steering wheel fit?

I am pretty sure the 350 and 350R will fit so the GT500 steering wheel should though some functions may change or not work.

Put a cover or wrap on your current wheel. I did this and mine feels way better.

I have alcantara gt350 wheel restitch to match my orange badging. Slippery side is gone, but it might be even slimmer then original

Get it to a car upolstery shop and have them redo it to your liking.

Here in Germany there are many companies online, that offer this.
Half of them is doing a good job and is able to keep the heating.

One of the best creature comfort I made to my vehicle was to replace the leather steering wheel. My new wheel is actually a combination CF (upper and lower) and perforated leather (sides).
I was careful to choose a wheel that had serrations around the entire circumference for finger grip. The increased thickness of the wheel all the way around helps substantially.
While Ford may consider the premium leather wheel an upgrade, I have absolutely no regrets replacing that puny, hard to grip wheel.

I'm surprised that something like that is so expensive in the US!
I could understand it with the carbon parts, but a simple leather cover is supposed to cost almost $800 while losing the heating? 🫣
That must be the "premium" supplier with corresponding surcharge?
Given the prices, I would ask local companies before sending my steering wheel there.

Regarding carbon: It looks nice, but you don't want to touch it all day long on a road trip.
It can also be annoying in terms of reflections when made with gloss finish.

I have an Idea for you. There are great companies in Germany doing that work..Start a business representing them in US and make commission. Could be a great service.
Not aware of it here.
Me, I just cheaped out and threw an Alcontara snap on cover over It.
I like the cover, like the protection, look, feel and extra thickness it provides. I hate the feel of it not going completely around the wheel. Still, way better than stock. If I were more ambitious, I’d probably just do a GT350 type wheel on it.

The price includes an OEM wheel base -- you don't send your wheel there.

15-17 Mustangs, GT350s and GT500s do not have a heated steering wheel option. Many people live in a climate where it's not useful, or do not drive their Mustangs in the winter.

If the price isn't for you (or anyone else here) there's imitations on Amazon and eBay for much less that do not use an OEM steering wheel as the base.

I’ve seen a few on eBay for 3-500. Does the mach 1 use a heated wheel?
