Final touches today on the S650 in house. Only thing I had left I wanted to do was apply a glass coating. I only did the windshield as I applied Carpro Clarify Phobic on all the other glass. I found if you wipe it down a couple hours after the fact with a good waffle weave towel and regular glass cleaner (P&S Tru Vue in my case) it wipes clean and streak free. Anyway, the windshield was in great shape so all I did was apply some KCx Micro cut polish using the micro cut pad and my Rupes 3 inch polisher. Wiped off with a towel dampened with DIY detail rinseless I had on standby in a bucket, then used the ADS prep wipe twice. The ADS glass coating lays down nice and smooth, albeit squeaky like most I have used (Gyeon Quickview comes to mind), it did the sweat beads immediately, so once I got it applied all over in a cross hatch pattern, I wiped down with a Rag Company Ultra Rip N Rag... Then I applied a second coat as instructed, ADS says no wait time, so I applied again, and wiped down again... Very happy with the result will sit in my hot box garage til my friend comes for pickup this evening

Hmmm, I guess I'm waiting to see how long it takes before the Mach1 is traded on a S650 of some flavour.

Pretty much Zero chance... I would have to have a Tremec so it would be a Dark Horse. And new Dark Horse's are going for 70K minimum around here, so yeah.. Zero chance at this moment

When the S650 was unveiled, a lot of noise was made about Mustang being the last of its kind, the media and fans echoed that sentiment and spread it far and wide. The dealers played along too, especially in Australia where Darkhorse was treated as a limited run special edition, not a full-time model. So, you had to have pre-ordered a Darkhorse or pay a heavy markup on someone selling their allocation.

On that basis, I know a lot of people who got sucked into that thinking the Darkhorse would be a collectable vehicle. And I guess it is, but it won't be the "last". The Darkhorse community wont want to hear this, but just wait until Ford bring out the next "special" Mustang, perhaps a GT500, Mach 1, Bullet or similar. Darkhorse resale will fall like a stone.

I'm not dissing the Darkhorse by saying that, rather highlighting that Ford know what they are doing with Mustang, playing consumer in the same way Porsche does with its GT3/GT4 vehicles.

True..... Thats why I don't see the DH any more special than a GT for the most part... BUT, Ford only puts the Tremec in the DH so there lies my dillema. That was my dillema when I bought my Mach 1. I was adamant on having that transmission, so it was the DH, Mach 1 or a GT 350. I wouldn't go near a VooDoo with a 100 foot pole, so the Mach 1 or a DH. Hence my getting a Mach 1 as it fit my budget. Plus its totally a Bad Ass car

All AU-Spec S650 GT's are basically fully loaded, which means the full Premium equipment group. The Performance Pack is standard, which includes the same brake hardware, sans the two-piece rotors, and a few key Darkhorse chassis tweaks. We also get the Active Exhaust as standard. But it's the engine that makes it hard to justify the $20.000 price premium.

GT - 345 kW of power (at 7250 rpm) and 550 Nm of torque (at 4850)

Darkhorse - 350 kW of power (at 7250 rpm) and 550 Nm of torque (at 4850 rpm)

Same torque figure, and only 5 kW difference in power, that's 6.7 hp. Sounds great value doesn't it?

I know a lot love the 5.2 VooDoo, but they appear to be quite fragile, I know Ford were replacing a lot of engines under warranty at alarmingly low milage, owners had to keep that quiet though. And again, I'm probably going to be flamed here, but I prefer the sound of the 5.0 Coyote.

The below video was posted 14-days ago, easily the fastest growth in views I have achieved so far. Just on 6000 views is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but for me its massive. To be clear, I'm not making videos to generate income, get free stuff, or to become famous. I'm just too shy and self-conscious to stand in front of a camera, or play the Youtube game, you know, the "like and subscribe" brigade. Rather, it's a way of keeping my mind active, a new challenge to explore. At the moment, I'm deep in chainsaw land, but detailing content will have a comeback at some stage as well.

I do too. I am not a fan of the sound of the VooDoo, nor their fragility hence my aversion to them altogether.. I'm not a fan of the Coyote either if its straight piped and has catless headers. They are naturally a nasty sounding engine... I am very happy with mine at this time, Ford did the Mach 1 exhaust right. Just a simple resonator delete and its perfect, not too rapsy, good deep tone...

If I get around to 650 it’ll be Shadow Black GT to disguise this features of the design I vacillate over.
I’ll source a set of those gorgeous Dark Horse wheels. I don’t like spoilers.
Reckon it’d be hard to pick at a glance even by Mustang enthusiasts.
For Joe Public - well, I had 2020 Kona coupe and 2017 Lightning vert at same time. No one among friends or family commented or appeared to notice two different cars.

Almost always a guy in his 20's thinking louder equates to better. I'm all for a loud exhaust, but headers, cat deletes, and straight pipes are a nasty combination with no refinement in the actual sound they produce, it's just noise.

Yes, to add to that from our UK perspective :

Off topic but yeah, I am interested to see what happens with the export market numbers, but I don't think it will bode well for the future ...

Over here, a Dork Horse works out at circa $100k, and our version is only 4 HP more than what the 18+ S550 GT was ... (S650 GT is actually down on the 18+ S550 GT)
