Launch control won't activate!

Ok, so I have watched the video from Ford of how to enable it as well as a couple random youtubers. I'm doing everything the same and yet my rpm will not lock.

Anyone have a "Launch control for idiots" to post?

Did you select it in the track apps menu and make sure you're in sport (or track can't remember) mode? You'll have a little yellow "LC" pop up on your gauge cluster.

Yeah I got the LC. I have a base GT with PP. I have tried it with traction control on, with traction control set to sport and with it completely off. Base does not have "track mode".

Yeah that was one of the YouTube videos I found when searching. I did it the same way. The only thing now that I am pausing on is if I had it in gear. I will try again tomorrow and make sure I have it in gear if that HAS to be one of the steps for it to work.

How do you exactly plan to do a burnout without being in a gear? Of course you HAVE to be in gear… the rear tires aint doing anything without it!

Not trying to be rude… but… please be careful. Your about to unleash all 400 + horsepower and need to know how to use it.

First off it's launch control and not line lock. Secondly, I do know that you need to be in gear to actually make the car move.

In any case, I made sure again today, and yes I have always been putting it into 1st, it still is not holding the rpm. Just acts like normal like I'm not even playing with the launch control functions.

I really am the only one that has not been able to get it to work???

Good thing I am a good driver that actually knows how to do the same function without the computer, but it would be kind of fun to try it out and have a GTR moment.

Just to make sure, you've got "LC" on the driver's dashboard, right?

When you put the car in first gear, the RPM's don't shoot up automatically. You're supposed to keep the clutch fully depressed (while in 1st gear) then step on the gas pedal simultaneously. That'll shoot the RPM's up as expected but instead of going to the redline, the needle will stay at whatever RPM you've set line lock to. The car will shoot off immediately as soon as you get go of the clutch.

I believe what your doing is trying to partially open the throttle. This will prevent launch control from activating. You must push the accelerator immediately all the way to the floor.

THIS right here could be it! Haven't tried it yet, but that is exactly what I'm doing. I have been resisting just slamming it to the floor thinking that if it doesn't catch at the set rpm it is just going to bounce off the rev limiter which is something I don't care to do. Guess I'll have to try though!

I had this same problem. The "key" I found was in his video. While in gear, clutch in, press down on the brake pedal fully (that's what I was missing), then go to the gas, the RPMs will stop wherever you have the LC set at.
