My biggest fear is hitting a curb or concrete thingy when pulling in to park. So far, all good on that front!
This is what I worry about most, and I can't seem to ever get a good judge on how far the front end is from a curb. I back in almost 99% of the time, it's much easier and safer with the nice rear view camera

You can judge the length of your front end by looking at the reflection of your car on another car next to you if you're parking next to a car.

To understand, you hit the surface above and infront of the 1 1/2" rubber lip that sticks down all across the front?
No, underneath that. You can't see the scrape at all, it's like a big scuff on the bottom of a shoe. I was lucky the curb was *just* low enough.

It's like a triple whammy. The massive front end, the obscuring lump of a hood bulge in the middle, and the turning circle of a school bus all make it really hard to turn into my garage without feeling like I'm going to sheer the front nose off. And I always stop short a solid foot or two when I think I'm going to eat a parking stop or smash a wall.

I back into my garage... easier to be precise because of the backup camera.

After my first test drive, the salesperson had me park the GT in 'the usual spot'. I got out and looked at the front dam. A dollar bill would be hard to pull out from the curb/dam.
I showed the salesperson. From that day on...all the 2015s have been parked in another area with lower curbs.

As both of our cars (will) have a back up camera, I would love to do this. But alas, we park two cars squeezed into the garage. The house entry is on left as you drive in. I park my car on right, because I can hug the right side of the garage with my right mirror (wife is not so confident about closeness ;o). Wife gets to pull in with room on both sides. Left so we can walk thru to get into house and right so I can get in/out if my car. But I always leave my current convertible's drvr window down to ease my squeezing in when she parks close. :)

Hmmmmn. But I think I WILL try it anyway when my new car w/ camera arrives. Where there's a Will, there's a Wheaton... no wait... (too much Big Bang Theory)

I've got a nice little curb going in my driveway and have no issues but after I install my Steeda springs it might be a little tight... might have to come in at a slow angle...

I was doing 6-point turns to get the thing into the garage the first week or so of ownership (not sure whether you can tell by my avatar but we have a weird-shaped, double-ended, grassy-edged driveway on a corner lot), whereas my old Wrangler just drove right in with a single sharp turn. I don't want to sideswipe the truck already parked inside but also have to make sure to not slice off my mirror and rear fender on the doorway. And I couldn't just drive over the grassy edge to get better situated before entering as my gardener already replaced one broken underground irrigation pipe. :p Once I would get in, I had to keep stepping out and getting back in to pull up bit by bit to ensure I wouldn't hit the storage cabinet in front of me, while making sure the garage door wouldn't come down onto the rear end. This whole task took at least 2 full minutes. :headbonk:

Now that I've mastered the garage parking, I am working on gauging the front end. But I am absolutely dreading parallel parking! :(

Well, hell, no you are scaring me! I was originally only worried of my wife (1) hitting the RF rim on curbs when parallel parking and (2) front end parking curbs. NOW you have me worrying about ME! :eyebulge:

I will be looking even harder at the proximity beepers and possibly camera(s). Originally I searched for sensors for (1) FR wheel, but all I found was sensors for (2). I was thinking I might have to buy two sensors to cover both areas. But the only system I've read much about, only has a single beam to 'sense' objects directly centered on the bumper.

Maybe the answer is a wide angle camera lke the B'Up camera and someone finds a way to patch that into the screen on the dash. But I have not read of anyone sucessfully doing that yet. BUT I AM ALL EARS!

Ah yes...scratching up the rims! And here I was, thinking about smacking other cars. Where are my priorities? I even spent extra on the wheels, duh. :p

I love your front camera /dash screen idea. Bet that would solve the problem! :D

I added curb ramps at the end of my driveway. Made a big difference. Go to www.bridjit.com
Wow, that is pricey for what it does.

The front end obviously sticks out like crazy but its not particularly low or anything. Zero problems with driveway or scraping. I do have a massive amount of effort to park it in my garage because of not being able yet to properly judge its front length. So i park, get out and look, inch forward, get out and look, inch some more forward, get out and look etc etc etc You get it. Im putting in a bump stop so I know where to stop it.
I have a shelf in front of the car. I checked where the best place would be to park, then noted where the front edge of the hood comes in relation to the shelf. Easy as pie for perfect garage parking without any bumpers or ugly hanging balls.

I use a similar technique when pulling up to a curb. I use my side view mirror as a gauge. Simply find the perfect distance from the curb, check where the curb is in relation to your driver's side mirror and lock it into your memory. Works like a charm!
