My biggest fear is hitting a curb or concrete thingy when pulling in to park. So far, all good on that front!I'm relieved to hear that. I like the fact that the splitter is so thin, but it also made me afraid that it wouldn't fare well in a driveway encounter.
this especially since this is my first car with a giant ass front end... I have no clue how far I'm pulling upMy biggest fear is hitting a curb or concrete thingy when pulling in to park. So far, all good on that front!
Same for me, I have a steep driveway at the bottom of a hill. So the road pitches down into my drive and the drive pitches up away. About the worst case possible. I had my wife check the clearance on the first day too. It was really close but going slow (nearly stop, then go) at an angle and it clears.I have a decently steep driveway but have no rubbed at all. I have my wife check it the day I brought the car home. She said I had 3" of clearance from the splitter to the driveway.
I always pull in at an angle anyway and not straight on if that makes sense.
I fear this as well. Not used to the size of the front-end. I keep thinking I'm going to hit things when I have a good 2 feet in front of me.My biggest fear is hitting a curb or concrete thingy when pulling in to park. So far, all good on that front!
To understand, you hit the surface above and infront of the 1 1/2" rubber lip that sticks down all across the front?I hit a curb while slowly pulling into one of those angled parking spots in the street (the corner on the passenger's side). What a horrid sound, I thought I smashed that thing or at least cracked it. But you can't see! Luckily the curb was short enough so it only got a scrape underneath, so it is not visible, but you can feel it if you run your hand underneath. Now I park too far back from everything. What can I say, I'm used to driving a Wrangler.
Remember those curb feelers? Maybe I should get summa those. :headbonk:
