Spent the last 3 days doing a rally, got my car absolutely FILTHY, drove almost 1000 miles, much of it in the rain... SO I had to give mine a much needed bath this morning. We had magnetic decals on the doors, was comical seeing the clean paint under the decal...

VERY good time, but as I always say only half the fun is making the mess. The other half is cleaning it up...

It is.... I used up the last of a gallon on this wash... A gallon of ADS wheel is in my arsenal now, I like it just as good so far...

The ADS is even more vibrant. A really deep purply red.... I did my friend's S650 convertible first wash after coating yesterday with it. No pics though, it was really hot and I was trying to hurry and get it done ASAP as stuff was drying left and right...

All you do is wash the mower, then mist the product onto the STILL wet surface and immediately rinse with a hose or pressure washer.

My test bottle of Hydr02 Lite showed up last week and Saturday was mowing day so it was time to give it a whirl but unfortunately, thanks to the near continuous strong winds here, it was an exercise in futility.

After we finished the lawn, I blew off the mower then gave it a good rinse. Grabbed the bottle and that's when things went south or at least partially so. CarPro says to use a "fine mist" which was a joke in the brisk wind. Did my best to get some on the surfaces then rinsed while doing about a quarter of the mower at a time.

Yes, the water did bead immediately but it took far too long to go through this procedure, especially after spending three to four hours under the Texas sun to do the lawn.

I don't know how long this product will hold up and if it lasts a month or so, I may continue to use it but if it doesn't last that long, I don't think I'll be using it again on the mower, it's just too much work when I'm already beat. Thanks to the wind, I wound up using half of the 16oz bottle.

I did have a couple helpers for moral support though. Buddy's not in the frame, he was back by the garage, but Drogon came out for a photo. <smile>

Spraying with the wind might help a little but on a windy day you’re going to use way more product than initially intended. The heat generated by the mower (and just the overall use) would probably break down the protection pretty quickly. It’s why I don’t really bother with any of my lawn/snow equipment. I just give them a good rinse down after each use and will give a more thorough wash at the end of the season. That and regular maintenance is good enough for me on equipment that takes a beating.

Products like Hydr02 are dispersed by water flow, so in theory, the fine mist thing isn't critical. When I use Hydr02, I tend have the spray tip opened from a mist to a heavier flow. As you noted, a "fine mist" can be problematic, and you certainly don't want to be inhaling this product.

That's really odd. I don't think I've come across comments about Hydr02 taking too long to use, the key benefit of these products is the speed and ease of use.

I'd urge you to give it another try with a heavier spray pattern, I'm confident you will get better results. If not, perhaps next time you have the Kranzle out, try that instead of the garden hose.

In terms of the water beading, I think your application experience may have something to do with the underwhelming result. You probably won't get Reload levels of water beading, but it should be immediately noticeable.

Well, that is the best compliment I could ever wish for. Believe it or not, the vehicle turned 9-years-old in April.

It's primary role is daily driver/work hack, but I've taken it far and wide.

This is what the PX MK II replaced, a 2010 PK Ranger XL These were the Mazda-based Ranger's before Ford took the lead in Ranger/BT50 development. Not one single thing went wrong on it over the 6 years I had it........................................

Ideally, I would have traded it for the current model, but Ford deleted the low-ride suspension and only offer Hi-Rider, regardless of 2WD or 4WD. I don't want or need ride height, and I mean that from a dynamic point perspective, but also from a usability point of view.

Seriously D, I like my wheelbarrow and garden equipment to have battle scars - the dry cement from the neighbour’s mid 90s renovation. The dent from the dropped sleeper in 1980.

Did an annual coating maintenance wash yesterday for a good friend. It was hot (relatively for East TN) and sunny so I had to work fast. No in progress pictures due to working quickly to mitigate the sun but the end result is stunning... ADS wheel and tire on the wheels for the initial hit, then foamed brake buster for the contact wash. Full ADS Decon soap foam down, scrub the top with a horse hair brush and rinse, then used KCx Reactivation shampoo for the final foam and bucket wash... Rinsed with DI water then blow dry, mopped up the drips and wiped the car down with Amplify. Coating is performing flawlessly... The rapid red is so beautiful...

That has always been my habit until D mentioned trying Hydr02 Lite. And now that I've tried it, I'm thinking that I will go back to the old ways and just give it a good rinse and blow dry.

The time issue was brought on by trying to get out of the wind and, close enough to the mower so the "fine mist" didn't get blown away. After reading what you said about that D, I'll try it with more direct spray next time but for me, the juice isn't worth the squeeze, unfortunately.

You probably won't get Reload levels of water beading, but it should be immediately noticeable.

I think I'll just go back to my old habits of blowing the dirt and grass off, rinsing thoroughly, followed by a blow dry. It was worth a shot.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water . I personally use Hydro on wheels almost exclusively. It is magical on wheels, it really helps extend the hydrophobics on wheels I however have NEVER thought of using anything on my mower other than a rinse and blow dry... I did hit it with APC last year to get another layer of grime off
