I saw a few S550's in at the car show with side scoops. A few different styles were on display, but the one that I liked most was the Roush. I know these are for pure aesthetics. I'm torn because I've always made my choices based on function over form, but they remind me of my 68 GT. Be brutally honest.

The pic below is not my car but It's my color.

My 2 cents on the topic. I personally felt exactly the same way - they add some throw-back or legacy distant relation to the first generation car. The Mach 1 from 69 had fake scoops on the sides so I thought adding them to my '21 is kind of relation and homage to the very first mach 1. I did not want to put them on the paint though, so I went with scoops on the quarter panel widnows.
Not precisely the ones I really imagined, but close enough.
Pics for reference.

P.S. I wouldn't say they are identical, but pretty close relation to the original in my opinion

Don't know if I said this before, but... Side scoops: yes. Side scoops on an S550: NO. The extreme angle of the back of the door and closeness between door and wheelwell mean any scoop in that area will have an unattractive shape, made worse by how great the rest of the car looks.

The side scoops add a bit of old school flare, but im not a fan of them on a S550.

Me and my friends call them “side dongs”

I.e. holy Fxck look at the side dongs on that boy!!!

We also call fake hood scoops “hood dong” and the window ones “window dongs”

If a car had all of them “he can’t possibly take anymore dongs”

My 2011 3.7 came with them from the factory and the side window louvers. I bought the car used and it has the window sticker in the glove box that's how I know it came from the factory. I like the look of the car with the scoopes. Its your car, If you like it, Do it. I bought a 2015 5.0 this spring and it does not have them. I also like the look of this car with out. So I get the best of both worlds, one with and one with out.

You and your friends seem to be VERY dong focused
