Has anyone tried the spare wheel and tire from EZ Spare Wheel? Claims to fit Brembos and for $388 shipped its the best deal I've found. I'm just kinda worried they are saying it fits the Performance Package and it might not.

https://ez-sparewheel.com/products/...e 5x4.5 (5x114.3mm) 145/60R20 (SpareTire.com)
The issue isn't always about clearing brembos it's a about the overall diameter. A taller or shorter tire than the rest can cause the torsen in the performance pack to grenade itself (hence why a spare wasn't offered because Ford knew people would be dumb and try to use a spare on the rear and then have issues and try to sue etc so they never offered one, there is a company and I think it's just that. A single company that offers a legit spare for our PP cars. Or swap to a square setup and buy a full size spare. Makes life easier

I was looking at the Automotive Authority one previously. I thought Torsen came out and said differences in tire size doesnt really affect their differentials?

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/torsen-differential-and-mini-spare-tire.40727/

I havent been on oem tire sizes since 2015. The 145/60/20 will be a 5% difference from my current rears and 2% difference from the size i plan on going to soon.

Everything I've found in the torsen says it causes issues, it's something I'm not willing to gamble on since it's expensive. Ps you can run a rear rim on the front with a small spacer so you could just buy a rear rim and toss a tire on it and use that as a spare. Either way it won't fit in the trunk perfectly. I swapped to sve sp2 rims and am running 19x10 275/40/19 square setup

I guess i will reach out to torsen to see if they will clarify. I just recently got pp2 wheels so going square is out of the question for me. Everything i find is saying torsens are much less sensitive to tire differences than regular LSD. My fronts will be same diameter as the spare and rear will be just 2% difference

If im not mistaken the wheel tire from automotive authority is 27.5" so it would be a bigger mismatch.

Yes the kit fits the Brembos and if you're worried about it hurting anything (I'm not at all) you shouldn't be driving fast or far on the donut anyways.

Good to hear if its over brembos. It looks like torsen stands by their differentials and use of mini spares because they have a statement on their website. Im assuming at under 27" it fits in the spare tire well with no issues?

I have AAA but really hate being stuck on the side of these dangerous southern highways for possibly hours waiting on a tow. Would like to have the ability to get off the highway quick or even drive to a tire shop if one is close.

Not sure. I'm the future my spare tire well will either house twin turbos, a sound system or I'll cut it off and add a flat plate for some weight reduction. I'm not at all concerned about a spare. Eventually I'll go and buy a full size rim and an extra tire. But I still wouldn't carry it with me unless I'm going over 2 hrs from home.

I am curious now. The old spare was for mustangs that came with 18" wheels so it. Would not clear larger brakes. But this spare is a 20".

I have been in long trips and packed an extra front tire as a spare. Add a kit for changing, and you take up a lot of space. The alternative if being stuck on the side of the road waiting for an expensive flatbed.

With the small size difference, and Torsen saying it is not a major issue, it looks like a good option.

I also came across a post on a uk forum saying this exact size works. The fact that torsen has listed that email on their website makes me sure 2-5% isnt going to be a big deal.

I bought the AA spare, twice, after selling my M1 and then getting a PP2. It s just to get you off the road. You're not going to drive long , at least I wouldn't . Funny thing if I remember correctly when the spare came and I stood it next to the wheels on the car it wasn't t exactly the same height. I called AA thinking maybe I got the wrong tire but they said it s close enough and wouldn't t damage the rear. I did a test fit and it fit over the Brembo brakes. Never used it but it s crazy to drive with no spare unless you stay in town. Guys posted so many stores here about being stranded and the cost of not having a spare .

With my tires, the difference between the EZ-spare, in the front is less than a half of a percent, and the rear, is less than 3%. Torsen says the differential can handle a difference of 25% from a mini spare, as long as the restrictions are maintained. On a staggered wheel set, If having a front wheel as a spare works in a pinch, the difference with the EZ-spare is pretty much the same. Granted, you should never plan to drive on a spare, except getting to a spot where you can replacement tire. This difference is, IMO, totally acceptable.

Moving to the south has really changed my perspective on having a spare and having the ability to move the car to a safe location. I dont even want to travel 100 miles without one at this point.
