Or like in Fla they just take a pic of the plate and bill it against your SunPass/EZPass account.
I've had the dumb ezpass reader at an exit offramp booth malfunction and not scan my transmitter (permanent one mounted onto the windshield) and they end up sending me a bill in the mail with a picture of my car and license plate. They didn't automatically bill it. Oh, and the bill came like 3 months after the infraction. I wouldn't trust running the tolls without a transmitter and hoping to be automatically billed. This is Central Florida on the 417.

That's pretty much everywhere. They send you the bill plus $25 procesing charge (More like a fine)

I use a sticker. I keep it up behind the rear view mirror so you dont see it from the inside and you don't really notice it on the outside either.

You have to have the pass attached to windshield around here (unless you hold it up to window as your approaching, which is PITA multiple times each drive)...

You can't "run" a toll in NYC for the most part. Almost all of the lanes have a bar that comes down in between each vehicle. If the pass doesn't read correctly or someone w/out pass ends up in incorrect lane, an MTA Police Officer comes to the car (the horn honking from the car behind them summons the officer) and either opens with the pass on a secondary reciever by the base of the bar using your pass when you hand it to them, or takes cash and opens the bar.

You can use whatever pass in whatever car around here. Works for paying for parking at the airports as well.

However, I had a pass from one of our cars in our other car and drove up to visit relatives in NH, got a letter in the mail threatening a fine for using a pass (EZPass) registered to a different vehicle. :paddle:

Center counsel...if I leave it out of the bag, sometimes it actually reads and I don't take it out.

as long as your car is registered, you shouldn't have to worry about where it is.
I've gotten 3 toll violations in GA on the hot lanes and another 2 in FL in the Orlando area. PeachPass in GA, SunPass in FL. All because I had the thing in the glovebox or something.

Let me tell you, it's a pain in the ass to fix it. They use 3rd party toll collection agencies and don't deal with you directly. You have to submit proof, in writing, showing that your account was valid and had money in the account on the day of the violation.

I tried real hard not to curse out the people at the toll agencies.

It actually will set with the Velcro stripes down into defrost vents on dash. The Velcro strips are just thick enough to hold it in place. On the 80/90 toll system in Indiana/Chicago it's still a gate system, if your reader isn't in a good place, gate doesn't open!! So reader must be on dash or windshield.

Here is a picture on my GTI before I put black Velcro

Cool idea and thanks. I'm gonna do this

Quick question. I've never used Plasti dip before and I just bought a aerosolized can. I'm assuming I spray it on and let it dry. Then attach the black Velcro ?

or

Do I leave a spot on the EZ Pazz thingy that don't have the plastic dip on it so the black velcro sticks on better ?

Thanks in advance

I take mine in and out of the love box, placing it on the dash as needed
However my daughter had to pay a fee for her transponder not being attached to the windshield of her Subaru. How they could tell that I do not know. Her care is registered with EZ pass

In Maryland, the EZ works for multiple cars. Although they say the car must have the pass, they do deduct from the account if it's not read (they take pics). However, when going into VA, it's a little different. They charge an admin fee if the pass isn't read - that fee is pretty steep. In CA, each car must have the pass or you get a ticket. At least that has been my experiences over the years.

I have mine in the center console and pull it out as needed and hold it up. My commute has four readers each way. When we do a longer drive on unfamiliar roads, we hang it from the mirror.

I went out and got the little sticker version. Its like 2inches by 2inches, sticks right to the windshield.

Don't notice it at all, only disadvantage is its not transferable to another vehicle, but I don't have that issue as my Mustang is my only car.
