I am thinking about installing HID bulbs and was wondering if anyone can share their experience on the s550?

I am fairly happy with the OEM LED bulbs.

I did have trouble on one occasion where I was driving on the interstate with no light poles and raining consistently for hours and remember I was using the lines on the road to make sure I was driving straight.

It's a down grade. Adjust your lights can go a little higher than normal now that everyone has SUV and blinding everyone else.

Ah, thanks.

Ok so I will revise my question to, what is your experience with LED bulbs?

For me, nothing compares to LED lighting. Changing out your HID bulbs for LEDs using the OEM housings is generally not a good idea. To get the full benefits of LEDs, you need reflectors/projectors designed for LEDs. Good ones are not cheap, but the improved performance would be worth the investment. There are a number of options available from different vendors.

I replaced mine on 2015 GTPP, very pleased for $20 and bought another set cause I'm keeping the car possibly forever withhttps://a.co/d/5https://a.co/d/5rkN4OZrkN4OZ

You can easily access the bulbs, just pull the wheel liner fasteners and that makes it a 20 minute job

When I traded in my '16 GT for my current '22 the difference in the lighting was night and day.

Have you installed a set of these aftermarket LED assemblies? I’m seriously considering it, I’m not very happy with the HIDs on the car. My last few cars were German, and for whatever reason their HIDs were noticeably better. Doesn’t even make sense, I used the same Osram bulbs. But in the ford they just aren’t as good.

Hard to tell from the ads and video if the upgrade is worth the money. They aren’t cheap. And I just worry about reliability. Would feel pretty dumb if I removed perfectly good headlight assembly and replaced it with one that leaked in 6 months.

Been running aftermarket LEDs for about 18 months now. Honestly, heat dissipation is the biggest factor—cheap bulbs burn out fast. And finally swapped to Hawkglow LED headlights bulb and the improvement over stock was huge. Much whiter and brighter, with a sharper cutoff that didn’t blind oncoming traffic. I’d never go back to halogens or even HIDs.
