Hello everybody, I have a 2023 Mustang GT Premium, long story short a family member had thrown up in the area between the armrest and seat so I had to take the interior apart to extract all the substance in the carpets and to clean in between the interior piece crevices, including the passenger seat upholstery. While putting the interior back together, there was a connector under the cupholder that I have no clue if it went somewhere or is just for a feature/option I don't have, no lights popped up on the dash and everything seems to work fine still including MyColor.

That really LOOKS like it wants to plug in to the well under the actual cupholder, as in where you would drop your fob in, in order to program additional fobs, etc (forget the technical name for it) check there 👍🏻

It has been a while since I opened the center console. I really cant remember if i had a spare plug or not. Does it plug in where I drew the arrow?

OP is your car auto or manual? Maybe if your car is manual then the unused plug lights the P-R-N-D-S backlight for the boot on the auto car. Just spekulatin.
Hello, I just got back inside from taking the center console apiece and I believe that the plug is for autos only like you said, my car is manual. Here are pictures of the harness plug and the connection which just seems to be a dud.

Exactly where you pointed the arrow is where the connector went! Thank you

I'm confused.
So it's not an extra plug?
Did you take it apart and just forget?
I took it apart and forgot where I had unplugged it from and I checked all around to see where it could have gone and there was no actual connection to it besides the dud connector(dont' know the actual term), so I just put it back together the first time around with the harness free floating and the car was fine, but upon following @MiamiGT350 response, I plugged it into where the arrow went and it went in, @GTP suggested that it might be a harness for the auto version of the cars and I went and researched videos of people installing short throw shifter, taking apart center consoles and voila that harness is for the automatic PRNDS lights I believe.

I don't think the 2023s had lit gear selectors

That's what I read recently on the forum. Maybe Ford de-contented the light in the boot, but the harness remained unchanged.
