Thanks. As a HVAC Engineer I am quite familiar with relays and how they work. :) But does the car know what gear you’re in? I’m guessing maybe D, R, N is as good as it gets? Does everything still work (backup lights and camera) or no because #racecar haha? I guess deciding how much you’re willing to give up for the ironclad TH400 experience is a question we all have to decide on.

As far as I know you have to flash the computer to think the car is manual, so it doesn’t care in what gear is it. The reverse light, camera, you just need to install a micro switch on the shifter.

That just shows you how I’m going to connect my reverse camera/lights so all fully functional, plus and add a clutch switch. No the car won’t automatically know what gear I’m in since I have to get the turner to reflash the pcm to make the car think it’s a manual like Toro said. I have to wire in a clutch switch (a button that makes the car think I’m pushing in on the clutch to start it). The entire wiring harness that plugs into the 6r80 is not hooked up and is just zip tied out of the way.

What’s edited? Lol

Also looking for pics for ideas on how people ran the cooler lines from the fans to trans…. ie. above irs cradle then ran along bottom of gas tank since can’t fit in DS opening? Want cleanest possible way. Since I’m using all Ptfe line which doesn’t like sharp bends and I’d like to go above cradle, I’m guessing I may have to use a few 90 fittings on each line? I’d rather not but not sure how else to plumb this thing. Hmm

I typed up something in response to your post but it didn't read properly. So I just deleted it LOL. I ran lines over top of crade that way when I drop cradle for whatever reason the lines are not in the way. Ptfe here as well. There is alot of room on top of the cradle. My 1in intercooler lines run up there as well with room to spare.

That's perfect thanks. Your line is ptfe nylon braid and i have the gloss shielding, its pretty stiff stuff. lol I'm not sure if yours has the same lack-of-flexibility?

*Update
I finished building and pressure testing the lines so now the coolers are all mounted, plumbed and wired.

I have to wait until the trans is installed to make the long lines so I haven't tightened or secured anything yet.

Got to say though, I'm pretty happy with the turnout so far. :)

Yes the nylon braid ptfe is stiff. I have the gloss cover on all my other lines, not sure why I did nylon. Might have needed it overnighted or something.

Oh ok wasn’t sure if it was the same or not but good to know I’ll be able to make those bends.

Where did you ziptie the old trans harness out of the way? Happen to have a pic of that?

I swapped to a PP manual engine harness. That incorporates 3wire oil pressure sensor and eliminates 6r80 wiring.

Is it a requirement to go with a manual valvebody when you build a TH400 like this? Is there a reason an automatic valvebody is rarely seen?

With auto VB, down shifting relies on a kickdown switch of sorts. Likely limited on line pressure control as well and are not as performance oriented as a manual VB. This would also effect converter performance. Also manual vb are designed for use with transbrake, so quicker reactions are possible. Auto vb transbrake are not that great from what I hear. Lastly I don't believe an auto vb would work well with coyote and its rpm characteristics. Not to say you couldn't do it, but there is an absolute performance advantage with a manual vb.

Also auto VB relies on governor control of line pressure to help control part throttle shifts which is not needed in drag racing and most built manual VB TH400s have the governor removed from trans.
