A friend of mine from my fourwheeling days joined us to tackle the Rubicon trail long ago. He had California plate FAKRWEE as in , "where the f* are we?" as an inside joke for him having the reputation for often getting lost on the trail. It was originally rejected; then he told the approval board that was the name of his native American indian tribe and it was racist to deny the plate. They approved it. For all I know, he still uses that plate.
He later inducted me as an honorary member of the tribe after I got a group lost leading a 4x4 run in Moab while trying to use GPS coordinates to follow the trail. My tribe name is "Chief GPS'um and Still Lost".
