Hey guys, seriously considering an ESS on my 21 Mach 10-speed w/Wengerd tune and 28k miles.
Looking for opinions and answers to some questions from those that may have experience with the ESS.
I'm coming up on 4 years of ownership and the car is solid, done all the maintenance and upgrades so far on my own. Was thinking about trading the car in for something else with a stick but not really wanting a new car payment.
Not a daily but I drive year round in dry weather with 275/19 rear all-seasons for the Chicago winter and 275/19 Summer tires for warm weather. I don't drag race, but may casually hit the track every once in a while.
Planning on doing the lowest boost ,125mm pulley, gt500 injectors, plugs, and 170deg t-stat. No headers, stock Cats.

So here are my questions and concerns-

-Does a super charger greatly lessen the life of my Coyote?
-Will I need bigger tires to hook up or am I ok for a while?
-Will I be able to pass emissions still?
-Do I need to run 5w50 oil
-will the stock cats hold up ok
-does the Intercooler affect any of the Mach 1 coolers when installed?
-Overall is it worth $8000

My installer said 8-10 hours at $130hr which is way less than another quote I got for $2k
Also going to have him change the trans fluid to Amsoil with additive and rear diff while he's under there.

Should I do it? Wife is requiring contract saying I keep the car for 4 more years if I do it.. LOL

Got a good friend that just did his a few months ago . Granted his is a HP car running 315 wide Cup 2 tires, and he has less than 3K miles on his, but it did totally transform the car. He is also running Stainless Works catted headers too :) ... Wengerd is a magician with the ESS, I would have no reservations about it. I plan to do mine at some point when I get the $$$$.

I just don’t want the volume, it a definite deal breaker to go headers.
I’m 46 and still want the wife to get in the car.
You can go SW 1 7/8 catted headers into stock cat back exhaust and leave on normal active exhaust setting and the volume will be slightly louder but still ok imo.

Adds another couple thousand that I just don’t want to put into it.
New wheels and tires is going to cost me $3k

You have a Mach which means active exhaust and quiet mode. My car is extremely tolerable in quiet mode, it does an amazing job even with the headers on.

I'm still running OEM cats, 2 years later (not that I recommend it, just my experience). I don't beat the utter shit out of the car, but I do go WOT at least once every time I drive it, I have had quite a few runs as well... so it isn't babied. I run Pennzoil Platinum 5w40 EURO Spec. I would def recommend a good tire in the rear, but I can make it work with my daily 325 hankooks. As long as your tuner does not turn of your o2 stuff, then you'll pass no problem.

Not sure where you contacted for the install, the $130/ @ 8-10 hrs is pretty good already but Geared Up Motorsports in New Lenox is a good shop, Brandon is a stand up guy and stands by his work and not ridiculously over priced, also has a dyno in shop if needed.

Do it, you'll want to keep the car another 4 years anyways if you boost it, lol.

I honestly wish the M1 cane with active exhaust as an option. I bought my 19 GT purposely without it as I want my car to be as loud as it can be. Once I get out of California ESS is going on my car as well. I get wanting to be quiet for the neighbors but screw the neighbors.

Quiet mode only comes into play when you’re not in the gas . Just a valve in the muffler.

I’ve got LTH and with the car in quiet mode my wife has no objections. Headers shouldn’t be a deal breaker for anyone with active exhaust. Also no need to be deep into the skinny pedal with the wife in the car to begin with.

I also just did research before buying my ESS G2 kit, also G2 on 93 biggest 125mm pulley, GT500 injectors/spark plugs, and Vortech BAP; looking to keep it at 600 whp for longevity/reliability

1) Does a super charger greatly lessen the life of my Coyote? Yes but general consensus seems that 600 whp is safe and reliable
2) Will I need bigger tires to hook up or am I ok for a while? I'm sticking with my 265/35/19 continental dws06s since it's actually easier on the axles/transmission/suspension if you spin instead of dead hooking from a stop
3) Will I be able to pass emissions still? Yes the kit and tune doesn't affect emissions
4) Do I need to run 5w50 oil. Yes, Rockauto has motorcraft 5w50 for the cheapest I could find
5) will the stock cats hold up ok? This one is debatable, I've basically come to the conclusion that you shouldn't do super long quarter mile pulls, as well as back to back wot pulls. Mine is a daily driver and I never race so I'm not doing headers
6) does the Intercooler affect any of the Mach 1 coolers when installed? no idea since I have a gt
7) Overall is it worth $8000? only you can decide that
8) My shop that specializes in mustangs is installing everything for 1k, so that seems about right.

My car does not open the valves under moderate throttle 🤷‍♂️. I honestly don’t even know if they open at WOT. It’s been a while, but I recall going WOT in quiet mode and it did not go full race car noises. That was before adding the SC though.
