I recently picked up a GT350 IM, Roush CAI, SCT tuner, and will be getting a tune soon. My question is, what's the best budget adapter to run a stock GT throttle body on the GT350 IM. Are they all about $100? Also, do I need a JDM install kit? Is it worth the money? Thanks.

I've got the VMP, no regrets. You'll want the wiring harness extension for the EVAP to avoid a hack job for sure, the rest is up to you.

I had enough odds and ends laying around to make it look OEM beyond the throttle body adapter and harness extension.

Thanks for the info. I picked up the install kit. Mainly because it seems like it would be a lot easier than messing with the wires, with the added benefit of looking cleaner.

Still need to grab a throttle body. This install is ending up being a lot more expensive than I expected. lol

At $99 for the adapter you may want to just consider the GT350 throttle body.
Most of the tuners seem to recommend you stay with the stock GT TB. The GT350 apparently has issues with drivability and throttle response for no real gains.

I've heard that too but at the same time, the FP PP kit comes with one as do the Mach 1/Bullit so there has to be some information about it and benefit to it. Ultimately, I'd go with what you're tuner wants as he is the one that has to make it work I suppose.

The Ford Performance tunes drive great with the GT350 throttle body. Ive tried three other big name tuners and none of them could get the drivability very good with that throttle body so I went back to a stock throttle body that’s been bored out by Maxbore.

Indeed that has been my experience with pp2 and 3
That goes to show that Ford can tune much better than any aftermarket tuners

This was true in the early days of the GT350/87mmTB 5.0 conversions. Ford Performance was the only program that delivered perfect results with the 87mmTB. There are now a few other tuners that have all those bugs worked out. The GT350/87mmTB combination with proper tuning out accelerates the 80mm TB.
So who can tune the 87mmTB ? Wengerd should be your first go to.

Ford did it twice on a 5.0, once each with both types of TB protocols. You'd expect that somebody else would have done it or copied their homework by now.

Yeah, Wengerd has it as a selectable option when you buy one of his tunes so he's probably done a few

I just attached my stock 2015 gt tb to my gt350 intake mani, no adaptor needed. Is that normal?

One or the other is not what it seems in your case. The bolt pattern was definitely different in my case.

The difference in bolt patterns is obvious. Outer is GT350 intake, pre-'18 TB is inner.
