Why is the keyfob so bulky/large on the 2023 Mustang Mach 1

Can someone explain what is the rationale behind the keyfob being so bulky on the 2023 Mustang Mach 1?

I like my first Mustang but cannot wrap my head around this key...

yeah i agree , i have a 13 lincoln mks and that was half as thick , someone years ago for the last style keyfob used to make a 3d printed housing that made it smaller but no one has tried to do that with this fob.

Id buy a new housing if someone could make it smaller.

Many luxury brands now have massive FOBs.

It's to show off and make a big bulge in your pants, just in case the brand or the fob doesn't impress enough.

cause its a car whose fundamental guts and tech design/architecture is from 2015. Tech wise probably more from 2013/2014 as they were preparing for 2015 launch. No reason to upgrade it till they do the whole thing IE: new generation.

Disclaimer: I do not know if its literally the same keyfob some companies do change it up but many don't. BUT if its still this big in 2022/23 then if there was one previously it wont better design wise.

pretty sure its the same size key as my 2015 and exactly the same size as my 2017 fusion.

Funny enough my 2018 SHO has the slim style fob with all the same functions as the larger one on the stangs.

I am more annoyed it does not say "Mach 1" on the back.....

They could have, but they chose not to. On my wife edge ST, it has red ST logo on the back, but all other trims of edge's just have a blue oval on it. My explorer ST is the same way.

The 15-17 actually had a smaller key fob which I liked.
