That's not wheel hop though. The "kick out" is different.

I don't get "kick out" either with the S550 because the IRS eliminates "kick out" almost entirely.

Wheel hop occurs when you do anything other than a granny launch on the car. Have you dumped the clutch at anything higher than 2500 rpm? You'll feel it...
I'm only 800 miles in, still doing break-in, so no, but the couple of times I did WOT accelerations before I put on my winter tires I did feel it get slightly squirrely as it lost traction.

When I was playing around trying to get 0-60 times I didn't have any issues with wheel hop, just some plain good 'ole spinning depending on what rpm I was launching from. This was on smooth pavement, around 70 degree ambient.

How can it be that the car was designed from the ground up, yet Ford decides not to add a few suspension parts to mitigate it. Blows my mind. I don't understand.

Mine hops like crazy on the STREET. Full throttle in 1st or 2nd hops like I am going to break something.

So does mine. I've noticed it's worse with traction control off but still does it with it on as well.

It does seem worse with traction control on. Could it partially be due to cooler pavement temps right now? Combination, perhaps?

Temps absolutely are a big contributing factor in wheel hop. The colder it gets, the more it happens.

Ford puts soft bushings in the suspension so that the ride is nice and compliant and quiet.

You can stop the wheel hop but NVH will increase. Depends on what you want.

Yes the stick axle cars wheel hop too. For the same exact reason.

I see the opposite. When there's better traction, the force from the tires is greater so the bushings in the suspension get deflected more. I guess it depends on if you're calling 60F cold or do you mean 40F... or do you mean -9F like it was here this morning?

I would think the opposite. No? Colder the pavement = less traction, which should mean less wheel hop.

Does it make a difference if its the stock suspension or the PP that hops

Not sure whether Ford put stiffer bushings in the PP or not. The stiffer springs and shocks could have a slight impact (reduction in hop). I believe that bushings will provide the most improvement, though.

What does NVH stand for? Trying to learn the lingo!

I feel like this issue is being blown up due to the fact that everyone is getting their car in the dead of winter and half of us are running the PP summer tires. But I do get some wheel hop with my all seasons
