wasn't this year's engine changed/altered in order to fit under the hood ?
although it doesn't seem to have affected the mpg according to what Wblv17 has said
"that is really the same as my '14 V6 "

The intake manifold was changed to fit under the lower hood, but otherwise I think it's the same engine.

Exactly. I have been checking a few part numbers between the 14 and 15 and it does seem that the only thing that has changed has been the intake manifold. It APPEARS as though the exhaust manifolds are the same between the two model years as well. Alex from AM has said he would be confirming this for me. He is quite busy though so It might be awhile before we have a concrete answer as to what has changed.

I'll add that because we measure in Imperial gallons, will likely see 30+ mpg ;

Just took the 30 mile drive home with the new V6 with 3.55 gears. 70% highway, but lots of traffic and the final reading was 24.1. The RPM cruises at ~2200 at 70mph.

TY, manual, 3:55 rear gears with 750 miles on it now. Filled up with 87 octane and drove today from Warren, Ohio to Parma, Ohio and back, with a stop in Aurora, Ohio, on public highways, not limited access freeways. About 130 miles, guessing about 70% highway, 30% city, and my car tells me that I am averaging 29.1 for the trip. I saw 31.5 before I got off for my first town stuff. I drove it easy, but with traffic.
Each tankful gets better. You can really see the mileage drop if you get on it.
I didn't buy it for the mileage, so I don't really care about that, but find it nice anyway. It is better than my 2008 V6 5 speed.

Bay1stang and Renaultfool, thanks for the updates.

Renaultfool, eastern Ohio is nice and flat (I'm in Western Pa), which helps with mileage, but I am still impressed by your numbers.

Thanks to Zack and others on this thread. I just ordered a V6 convertible last night. I had been bummed at the 2 mpg posted EPA HWY rating. Glad to see the 3.15 ratio is getting 26-27 after ≈ 3,000 miles.

I see Stang1 posted his 3.55 RPM at 70 mph at ≈ 2200.

I'd be very curious to see comparative V6 RPM levels for the 2.73 (2014), 3.15 and 3.55 ratios.

How about reporting RPM for a speed of 65 MPH for anyone with those ratios?

I am curious what if any mpg drop the convertible (I ordered) has. I'd guess maybe 1 mpg due to it's less aerodynamic (not as sloped) shape and being cloth vs. smooth metal.

V6/AT/3.55:
2000 rpm @ 65 mph, in both Sport and Drive mode.
2200 rpm @ 70 mph, in both Sport and Drive mode.

Ratios are the same for gears 3-6 for auto and manual. I can't remember exactly, but when I test drove a 2012 V6 w/ 2.73, it was around 1700 RPM at 65 mph.
