Nice heads-up. I will consider it, although i don't think more air will be sucked as I'm not opening the inlet wider, instead insulating the sureoundings so it pics cold air from the feont only.The snorkel idea sounds good, but keep in mind, others have stated they got error codes when too much air was forced into the snorkel. I don't recall hearing their solution. I would think you could baffle the intake a measured amount if you ever get to that point however.
Another observation I made is that it seems when engine braking the intake temperature rises faster. Does it make sense that hot air is pushed back via the intake valve up to the MAF sensor? I think the MAF sensor reports the intake air temperature, right?
