Is this normally what an H pipe exhaust setup sounds like? Roush catback h pipe. Hollow sound

I have a 2017 Mustang Gt, with a roush h pipe and roush mufflers.

I originally had an x but I hated how raspy it was albeit it sounded good.

I threw the Og resonator back on the car for a few months until I decided I wanted an h pipe instead but now I get this weird hollowy sound with the h pipe.. is it just how it sounds? I’ve noticed the same exact sound on every single roush h pipe video I’ve watched. It’s more prevalent in the second clip of just the back end of the car. Am I nuts? I think it sounds kind of whack despite how good it sounds whilst flooring it.

it’s usually at low rpms that this weird noise happens, I’m assuming it’s the exhaust bouncing around from the h pipe. What do you think? Anything I can do? Try new mufflers? Go back to an x pipe?

I've only had my 2017 GT for 3-4 weeks now, came with Roush H-Pipe and Axle-Backs and I don't hear anything unusual in your video. Although I did think you were trolling because I didn't see the mustang next to the Charger because the lights were not on.

Wife and I love the sound of this exhaust - no intention on changing it.

Yeah haha sorry. The best video I could find demonstrating the sound but my lights weren’t on for some reason. Haha

That hollow rattly tin can sound is usually heard with resonator deletes and stock mufflers.

Your setup sounds exactly like its going to sound. You have proof right there.

FWIW I’ve tried
H-pipe with stock mulfers
Stock resonator with Roush axlebacks,
Stock resonator with Corsa Touring axlebacks.
Next I will try X-Pipe with Corsa touring.

I have no desire to go back to an H pipe, but then, the H pipe I had was very cheap and worth not a cent more than I paid for it. Better quality ones might sound better? It was a good volume add for stock mufflers, but it did nothing for the sound experience other than add volume.

Haha gotcha! Yeah I noticed it on every single roush setup video I’ve watched on YouTube I think I’ve watched them all. Just curious if it’s a roush muffler thing.

It bums me out because it sounds good besides that.

At the end of the day, it's subjective thing, and you're going to spend some cheddar chasing the sound you're after, but if that's doesn't bother you then go after it!

Sounds good to me. I have a 19 Bullitt with an H pipe.
