...my '21 GT PP1 when I close the doors (either) has a hollow sound.
My '17 GT sounded solid and I was used to even the Challenger
sounding solid when I closed the door.

Anyone else notice this??????????

I can’t imaging anything was changed with the 2021 doors, as they have been the same design and using the same components since 2015…

The door is hollow. Maybe add some deadening if it’s an issue.
...well duh. State the obvious.
I never noticed the '17 GT sounding anything but solid when I
closed the door.
Since my '21 is 4 yr newer, I thought maybe to save money on
deadening, the MoCo stopped putting the sound dampening
material in the doors.
Harley does crap like this all of the time.
I buy a new Harley every year, not a new car.
Harley's mantra; save a dollar here, save a dollar there...........................

As others have said, Dynamat is what’s needed to make the door sound solid. There is very little sound deadening material on the door skins from the factory. You might also want to consider replacing the door speakers while you’re in there. I put 9 sheets of Dynamat on my door skins. I cut out duplicate pieces for each door, so that they would have the same amount of deadened on them.

...naa. Too much work for not much return.
I was just curious if anyone knew if Ford was cutting corners
like I asked.
The car won't be driven much, thereby the door won't be closed much either..........

I gotcha. You’re absolutely right, it was a lot of work to do, but in my case, the I think the end result was worth it and necessary for stereo upgrades. Oh and yes, I sure do believe Ford cuts lots of corners. I’ve seen evidence of it many times over.
