Several wide-angle views of the various wall hangings in my shop. Yes, I have too much junk...
Love the Cougar. You don't see too many around much anymore.

Thanks. The Cougars are definitely few and far between these days, I've had that one for a loooong time.

Nice Cougar - definitely don’t see too many of those around anymore! What’s the stats on it?

Unfortunately I sold the mustang few years back, due to bad financial gambling decisions.
I am out of the hole now though and recently splurged got me that little cheap gr86 as my new summer toy.

would of considered ecoboost, but. No more manuals. :(

that said, I like my new car and happy with life again. Gr86 & home are both on track to be paid off in 12 months!
I actually swapped my Mach 1 out for a GR Supra 3.0 and am still loving every minute of it. I sure miss the roar of the Mach 1 though. That sound couldn't be beat by anything IMO. My wallet thanks me though cause this Supra gets a whopping 36mpg on the hwy and is faster than the Mach 1

It is a standard '67 Cougar, with the 4-bbl 289 and automatic. I bought it in 1986 going into my senior year of high school. It came out of southern CA at the time, and was and is 100% rot free. It's had one repaint (2006, original color), but the interior (including carpet), engine bay, and trunk compartment are still original. It still carries assembly plant markings on the undercarriage. I overhauled the drivetrain my senior year and threw in a healthy cam along with porting the heads.

Over time it morphed into a "Day 2" car, that is essentially a new car off the lot with mods common to the time period. It currently runs an early Cobra 2x4 intake, and full GT350R-spec exhaust and headers. 3.55 gears in the axle. The rocker stripes I had made, which were scaled from a photo of a late 1966 trim prototype that is in a Cougar book that I have. I had the MagStars and redlines on it until just a few years ago, and went to Torq Thrusts without centers to round out the Trans Am look.

This last pic was enhanced by our very own @kilobravo and is a shot I took over a 4th of July weekend a few years back just down the road from my house.

That is one nice Cougar and you really did an excellent job of not only preserving it, but also tasteful upgrades as well. I like that you did “period correct” upgrades too, that’s unique these days and to find such parts is even harder.

It’s definitely a looker and it probably gets nice attention at shows.

Thanks for sharing more details about it and best of luck with it too!!

Do you belong to any of the classic Ford or Cougar sites?

My sentiments exactly, CJ.

..that is a sweet garage
I sure don't have classics in my garage but other than the vehicles, yours looks a LOT like mine, i.e.,

"OK, where I can stuff this chidt" kinda garage. I actually get a grin when I find a new cubbyhole. <laughiing> Weird too because I am so obsessive, you'd think it would be nice and tidy..it ain't. <BSEG> (Big Shit-Eating Grin)

Thanks. It was a fun hunt to put together all the period correct stuff, it's a lot easier these days with the internet. I don't show it much (I tend to get bored at shows, and don't have the spare time for them), but it always gets a lot of looks when I do. And anytime I drive the thing it's like being in a parade, always honks, waves, and exclamations. I try to drive it every weekend during fun car season in MN.

I used to be active on a couple of the Cougar boards, but haven't been in years.

Back to the period correct parts, the only thing I'm missing is the Cougar-branded aluminum oil pan which is otherwise identical to the Shelby/Cobra ones. I've only ever seen one come up for sale, they are nearly unobtainable and sell for thousands. I remember seeing something on one of the boards once that there were only around 30 produced.

Pic of the goodies you could get back in the day over the counter:
