Does anyone have this problem? Looks like the rear HP spoiler is rubbing against the paint on the trunk deck lid and will eventually wear it out. If you have run into this, do you have a recommend fix? The pictures are not great but the 1st shows the area where the spoiler is rubbing and the next 2 I tried to zoom in. Thanks.

Yes. I have it and others have reported it as well. I don't think it's rubbing. More likely it just chipped the paint when the spoiler was tightened down. I used touch up paint and it's been fine ever since.

Others have it across different models, lots of PP2 including mine had it and it was definitely rubbing---touch up paint always chipped right back off. The fix is to remove the spoiler and redo the tape, apparently the factory tape didn't go far enough to the ends.

Never heard of it on the Mach 1 HP, I'll have to check mine

Could also use PPF in those areas once the paint is fixed
Why on earth would you ppf under the rear spoiler? If you are getting rock chips there, you have much bigger problems.

Those spots aren’t due to rock chips. It is most likely due to the spoiler rubbing, when the spoiler was attached or when people close the trunk by pressing on the spoiler. I had the same issue after a repair and the shop scratched the paint by closing the trunk by the spoiler. I had them repaint the trunk and after the paint cured used PPF in those spots, no issues since.

You misunderstand lol. The point is ppf protects against rock chips. Using it under your spoiler for this application is totally unnecessary.

The point of PPF is that it protects everywhere against many things. But it doesn't like vibrations from plastic parts that are created during driving. I have some small ripples in the PPF on the sides of the small spoiler. It protects paint for sure, though.

To protect the paint from the spoiler.

At the first oil change a few months ago I had the dealer remove spoiler, fix the paint underneath it and reinstall. Looked great but looks like it started again (not a Mach1 just a GT here). Just another hilarious quality fail by Ford. I've never once closed the trunk with the spoiler.. it's just from the thing flexing etc. It needs a thicker shim/some thin foam underneath it i think. I'm curious what the dealer says next time i take it in.

I persinally think it's from using that particular spoiler to close the trunk, but who knows.

If it bothered me enough I'd take off the spoiler and use something to pad the underside. But my touch up paint seems to me holding up well with ceramic coating.

I don’t think this is from closing the trunk. I believe its from the downforce on the spoiler while driving. Ford forgot to put the proper tape/foam between the spoiler and deck lid at the factory. Bad quality control
