The because I have to know file. So driving around yesterday I noticed by IAT2 around 118-124 degrees. As soon as I stop at a light it jumps to 140. Ait temps around 80 degrees. Start moving it drops back down. When I got home I let it sit in the garage it get up to 159.. I turned the fan on and idling it held at that temp.
So this morning I took a look at the flow. Being a bypass system, you can't see it flow. I tried to pinch off the hose but you can't get in there to do it. What I noticed is it seems the pump doesn't come on unless the throttle is open. Is this correct.? With the fan off, idling, the IATs hold steady. Fan comes on, holds steady. Give it some throttle, the IATs drop 10 to 20 degrees.
So what is the operating criteria of this system? It seems to be working but it appears certain conditions need to be met for the pump to come on.
