Reading that, the way they presented it, he seems like he's talking out of both sides of his mouth. They Mach E IS an all electric that they chose to emblazon (and some would say sully) the name of the Mustang with. Plus they are going to go hybrid. It just is what it is. Until they all accept the fact that electric is AS dirty if not more, than the ICE engines of today.

Exactly, which is why they don't have to electrify the current Mustang fastback itself when they can just make a bastard EV car and give it a Mustang-ish name and look.

LOL sure Farley says no electric mustang. Well lets see what happens when the shareholders get rid of him as CEO and pick someone else. Maybe the wind will blow a different direction under someone else. Still can't believe he is the leader of the company with the most recalls.
Chris Farley was a great comedian but his cousin Jim Farley makes Ford look like a joke.

I certainly would not mind a hybrid V8 mustang with a manual.

Why would the share holders want EV's? Ford loses 40K+ on each sale.

I thought you were kidding about Chris Farley being his cousin but that’s a fact. The things you can learn on mustang6g ….

I may be in the minority here but a hybrid AWD mustang would be sick. Hell, make it a mid engine too lol.

Ok maybe not mid engine.

If you listen to both of them talk (old clips of Chris obviously), they sound almost identical. They look very similar as well, although Jim appears to be in better physical condition than Chris was

Yeah Ford has some QC issues. But, from a pure automotive enthusiast standpoint, I wouldn’t want anyone else at the helm. Jim is a car guy, hell he races quite frequently. He’s keeping the V8 Mustang alive as long as consumers demand it, he’s building a supercar killing Mustang GTD that will be a supercharged V8 when others are shying away from that type of car.

He claims to be focusing on QC now, stuff like that takes time as it starts with training (or more likely re-training) of everyone starting with the parts manufacturers and on down the line all the way up to management. It’s like getting a cruise ship to make a 180 degree turn, it takes a while. Not saying we should expect Mercedes/BMW type quality as time=money, but hopefully S650 shows considerable improvement (as well as the entire Ford lineup). Maybe I’m too optimistic but I’m a glass half full kinda guy

Agreed, despite all the sarcasm I have towards the quality control and questionable s650 design decisions and pricing strategy, what else is there with a NA V8 making 500hp, two doors, a manual transmission and rear wheel drive? Plus a top trim that can compete with German sports car icons, and beat most of the stuff in same price range in corners. IMO, some other CEO would have killed it already in favor of another SUV pos.

If Mach E needs to exist so that V8 can keep on living, I have no problems with it, whatever it's called. And let's be honest, it is one of the best electric suv's out there despite being a 1st gen product.

Agreed, if the Mach-E’s sole reason for existence is to allow us to continue to have V8’s for the real Mustangs, I’m good with it. I’ve said it in other threads, if I were forced to buy an EV, I’d buy a Mach-E and have no regrets.

I wish Ford would go back to making other cars instead of going all in on trucks and SUV’s. Seems short sighted to me 🤷🏻‍♂️
