FYI: I wanted to pass on what I have experienced with regards to the Ford Performance Timing Chain kit M-6004-A5018 I ordered through American Muscle to get ready for my Whipple Stage 2 Kit Install.
- First, "ALL" of the Phasers, Guides, Tensioners, Timing Cover bolts were all just lumped into a single bag with no identification on it to show each bolt in the bag. I have no clue if they are used for they are not in seperate Ford Packaging.
- The parts in the Ford Performance kit, Intake, Exhaust phasers, tensioners, guides, chains are OEM Stock 5.0 off the shelf parts, not Ford Performance parts. (Verified with my local Ford Parts Department).
I asked prior to ordering if this kit had the 302 Boss Tensioners and guides and they said yes, but they are not.
I will see if AM accept my return and see exactly how their customer service actually is.
** If they will not except the return I will through the box of parts in the trash and buy MMR timing chain kit or just buy the individual Ford Performance parts separately.

Sounds like you might have a case where someone installed the kit, and returned stock parts for credit. And am never bothered to examine the contents of said return. They've done that a few times I've found.

Isn't the M-6004-A5018 just the standard components? Seems like an easy return if it's within the 30 day purchase window.

I recently ordered the M-6004-A5015B but this for Gen2

I once bought a set of wiper blades at local costco and when I came back home, I realized that somebody repackaged their old wiper with great attention to detail, and returned it back to costco, where it went back on a shelf. It's mind blowing how low some people are willing to fall for 5 dollars.

That is what it looks like. But no one at AM can give me an actual itemized list with the individual part numbers.

Post a picture of said parts. As @SolarFlare said, that kit is all stock parts and is more expensive than the sum of ordering it from dealer. I suppose the cost is for the convenience, as ford has to pull everything for you, package it, assign a PN and include it in literature. Just get the gt350 phasers, primaries, boss tensioners and gt guides and secondaries. MMR flip bracket is recommended.

I am taking pictures AM needs. I will post them later. You know if I didnt question the validity of these parts and researched the part numbers Plus I know what Boss 302 Timing chain tensioners and guides look like. Later

I can beat that …

I once got bought a Rubik's cube as a Christmas present. It was in its original packaging, but when it was unpacked, most of the coloured stickers had been peeled, moved and replaced  :giggle:

It came from a major retailer, they swapped it out no problem :like:

The Boss guides are different than gt? And confirm aluminum body tensioners were in kit, not the iron body ratcheting boss tensioners.

The tensioners were stock 5.0 and not the Boss 302 tensioners and guides. They were in a regular off the shelf Ford Parts box. The only thing I don't know about is their a Ford Performance Cam Phasers other than what is stock in my 19GT 5.0?
This suchs not because I dont have the time, its just my car is now apart and I do not like starting a project and not finishing it right away. I will call Mark from MMR about their Guides, chains, tensioners etc.

Looks to me like you got exactly what you ordered. Says "new production" parts. There are no performance cam phasers for gen3. There are no BOSS guides, just production guides that all 5.0 and 5.2 uses.

Yep. Pretty sad they listed as Ford Performance and when I asked what exactly was in the kit as far as the Boss tensioners, guides etc the sales person said yes they are in the kit.
- All bolts were just thrown in a zip lock bag with the guide dowels etc. Nothing designating what bolts they were.
- So does Ford actually make a Performance Kit with Actual "Performance" Parts for the 5.0?
- I should have went with MMR.

I don’t believe they have a kit with all the “high performance” parts like they do for the gen 2. I mentioned this earlier already that your part number only includes the standard components.

I guess I was mislead on the "Ford Performance" timing chain kit by the sales rep. I just talked with MMR and they said the kit I received is OEM stock 5.0 parts, no performance. And the MMR rep said Ford just throws the shit in the box and seals the box for shipment.
For me, I WOULD NEVER use a specialized bolt which came in a unmarked, no part number package which came in a zip lock bag with other bolts on anything.
