Anybody else notice that the brown PCV valve is loose on the passenger side valve cover? It may not be "loose", but it sure does wiggle around a lot. I would understand if it were pushed into a grommet, but it looks like hard plastic around it.

Also, how do you remove the valve if it needs to be cleaned/replaced?

Hmm I actually take back what I originally said. I'm not 100% sure if ford has changed them or not. I'll look it up in the morning and shoot you a PM.

Anyone know where to get an extra set of PCV fittings? I am going with an oil separator and want to keep the stock system intact. Would the dealerships have them?
I don't know which your getting but JLT's includes new hose and fittings and so does Bob's.

A little warning from the workshop manual:
"A new PCV valve must be installed if removed. Damage will occur to the locking mechanism on the PCV valve."

I ordered Bob's as well. I understood the set to include everything but re-reading the description it may not include new PCV connectors.

It seems like OEM fitting is just a barb that you push the hose on so you you should be able to just reuse it without any problems. I know you can buy the factory pcv hose with connectors because that's what JLT does, they buy the OEM hose with fittings from Ford and cut it to work with their separator.

I like the thought of an oil separator, in fact I have a JLT.

Since it hangs in mid-air, it seems to put some pressure on that PCV valve... that's what made me realize that it was "loose".

I'm thinking of mounting the JLT catch-can on some sort of bracket that supports it's weight. Then I'll cut off the stock fittings that come with the JLT, and run hi-temp hose from the fittings to the catch-can.

And voila! Problem solved.

That's the main reason I didn't buy JLT. Bob's comes with a support bracket that doesn't put stress on any fittings, which I like.

That's one thing I didn't know (about the bracket).

Where does Bob's locate the catch can? If you have a pic, that would be great!

Man, that sucks. After, I got the JLT. For the cash, Bobs looks like a more complete setup. I'll have to figure out a bracket setup on my own.

I agree. I ended up going the the matte black ultimate series like the picture which is actually about $200 so it puts it a bit higher than most others if you get that particular setup. I feel like it will be worth it though judging from the pictures.

Yeah, I saw that. Even more of a bummer. I also think Bobs setup has a drain. I think the JLT you have to unscrew the cup to drain. Not a major issue, but I'll need to figure out o rings in case one gets buggered up after a few drains.

So... anybody else have the same thing?

If I pop off the connector, the brown fitting that goes into the valve cover wiggles around quite a bit...

I'd just like to know if that is normal or not.
