So my wife and I are at Publix this afternoon. She’s trained herself to BOLO for nice looking S550s in the unlikely event I miss one. Well, we go by a clean dark gray coupe parked in the lot and I kinda just roll by it when she says “hey what’s that little emblem on the back?” I back up and sure enough, you guessed it, the snake.

I have tried to explain to her how special they are but she insists that our Machs are much prettier and way more attention grabbing. This particular 350 had no stripes (that I could see anyway) and yeah, it was a little monolithic where our Mach 1s are Grabber Blue and Oxford White. They do pop.

You know what? She may be right. I’m only talking about visual impact here, not content of the cars or what they’ll do. We all get that and understand what’s what.

So what say you?

I do like the 350 grille / hood / fenders. Great looking car, stripes or not. If given the opportunity I’d love a grabber lime 350.

As to the question. Both look good so it’s a tough choice. I’d say the GT350 (with stripes of course), just something about it that really grabs my eye, even though I can hear it well before I can see it. Little wider stance and that front end is just a great look.

Both have cool, unique features to them so to me there isn’t really a wrong choice, but for me I’d give the edge to the 350.

Shelbys with no stripes probably piss Carroll Shelby off a little bit…….. in my opinion, Shelbys need stripes.
Boo.

I can see where a car with stripes could have more visual impact than one without. Just like a gray or black car has less visual impact than a red or green car.

They both have similar front ends. Some Machs have hood vents, but the hood on the Machs I think is identical to a GT hood, so to me the GT350 hood has more visual impact.

I also think the GT350 fender vents have more visual impact than the side of the Mach 1.

The GT350R rear wing has immense visual impact for me. I think it's awesome how beautiful it is and how well it integrates with the shape of the car.

Mach 1 wheels have much greater visual impact on me than any GT350 wheels.

Bottom line: It probably depends on the specific two cars you are comparing more so than those two models. They are both Mustangs, so both look cool visually.

@dpAtlanta, your car would be the quintessential GT350 for me. It’s just perfect. I’d love a pic of my Mach sitting next to it. That would look awesome.

Great point. I’d say something similar when they switched over to the Swing from to the track pack spoiler. The track pack spoiler seemed to undersell the rear of the car to me, if that makes any sense. Whereas the Swing and the R spoiler really brings out the rear.

In 1965-1967 Shelby GT's arrived at the dealer's without any Le Mans stripes and stripes were installed as a dealer option, so I'm not sure if it would piss him off or not.

Boo………………. ???????????
All in good fun.

My GT350 had no stripes. I like them in theory, but decided not to have stripes on mine.

Mark, does this wing have a name? It's the media reveal car from late 2014. Was it the Tech pack wing only or did they put that wing on the 2015/2016 track pack cars too? It looks like the PP2 wing. Very subtle but I like it.
