Q: How many Need for Green Mustangs were produced?

Thoughts?
My head hurts. You have given me something to think about. N4G is the best color. Hand's down.

Hi, I also have a Need for Green mustang. I was curious if anyone has been thinking about doing a gt500 upgrade, hood, bumper or both on their Need for Green car.

I'm in need of a new Factory GT bumper and hood in good condition. I figured I'd ask those who already have good stock parts if anyone was thinking about an upgrade - I could contribute $$ to your upgrade and you save me having to get replacement parts painted.

I've given it ALOT of thought, and my ideal setup is what I had, factory gt bumper and California Special grill. The GT500 setup looks beautiful, but I loved what I had. So I'm on the hunt.

This was her... before :-( She got lots of compliments because of the color. I was working towards a subtle Joker theme with a few little purple accents. Got a fair number of compliments on that, especially the purple racing harnesses.

I wonder if antimatter blue will get this kind of attention a couple of years from now? Also supposedly a old year color as well . Except I believe that they offered it on most models

I thought about doing a GT500 conversion, but ended up getting the Cervini Stalker hood. Its more unique. I was going to change out the bumper at one point, but ended up leaving it stock.

I still have the stock hood sitting in the garage. Only issue is I'm in FL.

could we try to get a quote for shipping to zip code 76028 - that's my work location? I'll try to find dims and weight and do a quote through our carriers too. Let me know how much you want for it.

If I can find a box for it and pack it well I could. For price I would say just make me a fair offer. THe big issue though is getting it shipped via freight. There's no way for me to take it anywhere and dont know of any that would pick up.

ask your local household moving van company for a mirror box. It's actually just a 'corner' of a box and you nest 4 of them to make an enclosure. Then take some MDF or 3/16" plywood and protect the edges and possibly one of the faces.

The hood violates all 'standard' sizing so there will be a fairly hefty charge, even though it's not at all heavy.

I need to get dimensions and check with my company's freight carriers. If we can protect it, it might be logical to palletize it. We have a pretty low freight minimum. Is it in good condition? Any scratches or dents?
Where in FL are you? Zip code will help me calculate freight costs if I can get to that point.
My husband and I are talking about just sending him to go get it also. So that might be an option! His question was, "are they near Orlando?". Lol.

Q: How many Need for Green Mustangs were produced?

A: Wait a couple of years and someone might tell you.

Need for green was only made for MY 2019.

Ford VIN's for 2019 mustangs using http://mustangattitude.com/mustang/2019vinmatrix.shtml as a basis:

The first VIN for a 2019 mustang is probably:

1FA6P8CF7K5100001

1FA______________ means Ford Motor Company USA - Ford - passenger car

___6_____________ safety - means seat belts and front/side airbags.

____P8C__________ means the model was a Fastback GT

_______F_________ means the engine was 5.0L V8

________7________ is a check digit so computers can check the validity of the VIN overall. Possible to be 0-9 or X. Back to this later.

_________K_______ means model year 2019

__________5______ assembler - means it was built at Flat Rock, Michigan

___________100001 is the sequential number for Ford Division Vehicles, one per car, by assembly plant, 100001 through 599999.

At first glance is looks like the combinations for a individual VIN sequential number would be 1x2x6x4x11x1 (mfg x safety x model x engine x checkdigit x year x assembler) or 528.

It turns out a sequential number (last six digits) in a Mustang VIN has only six combinations because of the engine/model.

Safety is tied to the model/body. All fastbacks, Bullitts and GT350's are '6' and all convertibles are 'T'.

Engine for Ecoboost is 'H' GT is 'F' Bullitt is '0' and GT350 is 'Z'.

2019 mustangs were built at Flat Rock. Lincoln Continentals are also built there but that is an aside.

Check digit is calculated on the rest of the VIN - these guys built an Excel function to calulate it. https://www.mrexcel.com/board/threads/vin-check-digit.503506/

This means that for the mustang with sequential number 100001 there are only five combinations:

GT 1FA6P8CF7K5100001
Ecoboost 1FA6P8TH5K5100001
GT Convertible 1FATP8FF9K5100001
Ecoboost convertible 1FATP8UH3K5100001
Bullitt 1FA6P8K00K5100001
GT350 1FA6P8JZ0K5100001

It turns out the first one is the one that shows in Ford Etis 1FA6P8CF7K5100001
https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do
"Mustang, MOD 5.0L-4V DOHC SEFI NA, Velocity Blue"

Also, certain blocks of sequential numbers are model specific - GT350's start with 551100 I believe so the last VIN there 1FA6P8JZ0K5100001 isn't possible. Bullitt mustangs start with 500001.

In the end, there are four VIN possibilities for each sequential number that could possibly be a Need For Green - no GT350, no Bullitt.
Trying the calculations again with 100002 yields:

GT 1FA6P8CF9K5100002
Ecoboost 1FA6P8TH7K5100002
GT Convertible 1FATP8FF0K5100002
Ecoboost convertible 1FATP8UH5K5100002

1FATP8FF0K5100002 is 'Mustang, MOD 5.0L-4V DOHC SEFI NA, Ruby Red (Metallic)' and is a convertible.

Worldwide there were just over 102000 mustangs sold in 2019. That doesn't mean there were the same number produced. So, you would probably need a little under half a million web queries to get all the info but it might only take half of that.

In the end, there are four VIN possibilities for each sequential number that could possibly be a Need For Green. Someone who is better with scripting could probably automate this and get paint color percentages.

If you expand the Ford Etis PTI information for can see some other details - my VIN shows details for wheels/tires and matches the PP1 I would expect:

5. AXLES, WHEELS, TYRES AND SUSPENSION
Code Description
D2GBT 19X9 Fr/19X9.5 Rr-Alum Prm Pntd
D3DBC Frt-255/40 Rr-275/40R19 Y-Sum

So you might be able to figure out how any PP1 and PP2 cars were built as well.

Thoughts?
My mind just exploded. You're awesome.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the wording, that conflicts with the NFG numbers on this report (482 v 834) :

So for all the NFG fans out there I just got my report. From what I’m reading it looks like there are only 834 NFG Mustangs out there in all forms. That is way less than I thought and I am so excited.

It will be interesting to see what else shows up as more people get reports.

I'm on the fence about getting one, based on what I have seen to date and the fact that I'm a euro model - I'm still itching to find out the GL numbers though ...

It's pretty likely that the GT and Ecoboost cars are being counted separately on those reports, which means there are about half as many EB cars painted in that color. Makes sense to me. It seems like when it comes to the more wild colors, the EB kind of gets the shaft.
