Are Engine Covers Standard? (2023 Fastback EcoBoost Premium)

Hey guys. I recently purchased a 2023 Fastback EcoBoost Premium Mustang.

I noticed that it didn’t have an engine cover and asked my originating dealer about it. I was told that Ford doesn’t put engine covers on anymore…?

This seems incorrect to me. My engine even has bolt holes for something to be mounted on top.

Is my dealer correct that these aren’t installed by default anymore? I can’t seem to get a straight answer from Ford.

Can I ask where you're obtaining this info? My dealer said they used to come on the earlier years, but Ford had stopped with the '23s. I took this as him brushing me off...

Gotcha. Thanks for checking! I was trying to look at new and used '23s too, but none of the listings I found had pics of the engine.

This sounds exactly like my situation! Thanks for finding this. I will give them a call and see if they can provide any additional info.

I have an appointment at my local dealership (not where I purchased it due to inventory shortages) for a repair and I'm hoping they can order me one...

My 2022 didn't come with one either, I'm debating if I want to spend the $70-100 to put one on since I won't really be opening the hood much but I prefer the way it looks with cover.

In the 2018 model year Ecoboost Mustangs had engine covers. I think it was around '19 or '20 that it was deleted from the model. Also about the same time the console gear shift indicators (P,R,N,D,S/M) were no longer illuminated.
