gt350 axles are longer on both sides, IIRC about 3/8". Prob for the brake drum mount thickness. They also don't use the thrust washer. So if you go gt350 axles on your GT, don't use the thrust washers and they fit.

Also helpful to know.
But what I really need to know is if my GT axles will fit a GT350, since I will be replacing my rear knuckles and e-brake for the 350 setup. Will mine be too short?

No. The splines length and diameter are the same on both the GT & GT350. I think your only problem will be the camber being to positive.

It would stretch the axles a bit most likely, and could tear the boots as a result. Boots are not replaceable, would need a whole axle.

I removed the thrust washers on my GT and the axle cv’s had to extend a bit due to lack of thrust washer thickness. Blew an axle boot first event out.

So better stick to the OE gt driver axle if broken or get the gt350 one?

DSS or Gforce would be a better bet

Gforce won’t sell individual axle though, but we will sell the dss individually if you just wanna replace individually

I recently broke my driverside axle. I found a gt350 axle cheap. It fit just fine. The shaft itself is stronger, the GT is hollow, the CV joint is the same. I doubt it is much stronger due to the CV joint.

I'm between the OE gt or the gt350 axles if I would like to choose for my budget, what's the better option?

The GT350 is a solid shaft the GT is hollow. They both have the same CV joint.

I snapped my driver side axle and when I took it apart I also had significant wear in the CV joint. I found a used 350 shaft to use as a stop gap till my budget allows for good shafts.

If it is not broke right now wait till you have the cash for the aftermarket ones.

the gt350 is a little better than the stock.

if you’ve broken one and are on a tight budget, then it’s a better option but we typically recommend Gforce or DSS if you’re going to be getting after it a lot at the dragstrip

I have a daily gt and won't drag it any time soon.

I also dropped it off at a dealer and they said need to replace the driver axle and the wheel bearing. Since I have a clunking noise when engaging R to D or vice versa. Also I get some vibration in the rear when turning in either side.

So I either save around $150 for just getting OE for the D side axle and wheel bearing or getting the gt350 but will pay the double for the labor if I choose that.

Double labor? That makes no sense.
