You're knowledge is based off of principles followed before the 1980s. Cross drilled rotors were at one point the standard for racing at the highest level of performance, and even then only the absolute best teams could afford to design and manufacture cross drilled rotors that would withstand the rigors of racing.I'm not going to argue with a know it all. Unless you have done every kind

You've obviously been around cars you *thought* were race cars that really weren't. Cross-drilled hasn't been a thing for a long time. You obviously have never been around actual race cars...

The base 4 pot brakes with vents, pads, and fluid also perform very well for the beginner to moderate track carI run the cheapest PP centrics I can find from either rock auto or EBay.
Id be interested in understanding how you need more than PP brakes (w fluid, vents, pads) for an even moderately tracked street car.
My rotors are destroyed when the pads are worn out so I just replace them at the same time.
I applied this strategy for years racing SM and seems to work on an S550 too..

When I say moderate I mean 305mm 200TW driven 8.5-9/10 during hpdeThe base 4 pot brakes with vents, pads, and fluid also perform very well for the beginner to moderate track car![]()
I mean it all depends on the type of track, but you're definition is a little higher than mineWhen I say moderate I mean 305mm 200TW driven 8.5-9/10 during hpde
