My Camaro makes 1059 WHP using a Whipple 3.0 and the fix for street use was easy….I use the Smoothboost electronic boost controller for PD blowers (I’d guess it can be used on a Mustang but don’t know for sure). I simply turn the dial down and run 700 WHP or so on the street and it’s fine on Toyo R888R 315/30/20. Then with the dragpack on at the strip just turn it back up and it’s full send time. 👍

I was going to say what the hell are you doing here in a mustang forum lol. Also, what made you go from 17 Camaro to 21 Mustang? I’m just curious?

Ha! I bought the ‘22 Mustang GT for my wife. She had a beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulia but wanted more power and she’s always loved V8’s… she’s a keeper lol. Plus my brother bought a new ‘23 Mustang GT to replace his Z06 Vette and he was really impressed with it…so was I! Seems like a much more streetable and fun car to drive. Not sure if I’ll mod the Mustang…but you guys are making that possibility more and more likely by the day! This board is so great! The Camaro board is dead :(

I still have the Camaro and will probably never get rid of it since I’ve got so much time and money into it. Not sure where that bottomless money pit will end in my quest for speed lol.

But TLDR; I’m keeping both. Why the hell not haha!

Edit: sorry OP and hope I didn’t derail the thread…!

Sounds reasonable and absolutely makes sense on your situation. I would never know any Camaro because I never even tried buying those cars in my case. Again, it’s not my business, but I was just curious lol.

Also, these newer 5.0’s are very responsive when modding the cars unlike the prior Mustangs imo.

Yep. Right where any kind of cruising is at.
My 2018 F150 exactly and absolutely does that rarely on those rpm range, but my truck is absolutely not modded. The ticks, slaps are absolutely noticeable on those rpm range as well. Truck have 84k miles now.

Maybe I’m just comparing it to other cars I’ve been driving recently. I loaded up PBDs tune and same thing… I may have a gremlin or something. Car just ticked 40k miles, but idk… runs like a bat out of hell but just cruising it’s not the greatest. Almost like tip-in is off; slight hesitation with applying the throttle 75% of the time. Mainly occurs within that 1500-2500 window
I’m lost…

Out of curiosity do you know what spring you have in the tial BOV? It should be a 2psi spring.

It is the 2psi unit.

It's the tune, 100%. I had a buddy drive my car today (he has a Whipple'd 2016) with the VMP tune he also felt my issues, said tip-in is funky and made regular driving poor. We then loaded PBDs tune all within an hour and he immediately noticed a smoother tune right out of the gate. Zero light throttle issues with PBD.

He give give VMP some praise by saying their tune was quicker for sure, “it was always on edge ready to go” where as PBD was the “more grown up tune with all the issues ironed out” but noted that it made less power.
