The other is about an agency making such a broad based rule.
This is a problem, that agency does not have the authority to do this.

Too many rules deliberately being made by bureaucrats and the Executive branch, instead of our elected congress, who don't seem to care.

EPA May Launch Key Gas Car Regulations To Promote EV Adoption (msn.com)

Hello; Two things. First is part of the article the date is 2023 and later is 2032. My guess is the date will be 2032.
The other is about an agency making such a broad based rule. If this happens and is allowed to stand the rule will make pale the current mandates.
Yeah, the 2023 is a typo. Or dyslexia. Either way, when this first hit I had to check the date to see if it was an April 1st article that I was just getting around to seeing. Following the EPA Rulemaking Process, this shouldn’t even be in the discussion phase yet, unless Regan is only speaking to putting it into the Rulemaking Process. If that is the case, the chances of it making it through the Rulemaking Process seem pretty slim. Things like this typically take about two years to work their way through the process and the automakers are supposed to have their opportunity to weigh in.. That would put us at 2025 to react to a mandate for 2030. Not enough time for a lot of manufacturers, let alone suppliers to turn things around. Hopefully the details are wrong and/or EPA rethinks this approach.

Jury holds key to fate of $1 billion transmission project (msn.com)
Hello; Not sure how i would vote on this one if I were in the jury. I get both sides. One is the area will get more hydro electricity and use less fossil fuels. The other is lot of trees get cut down.

The carbon locked up in the trees winds up back into the atmosphere well before it's time and no new trees will be allowed to grow in the corridor for decades or even centuries. What low level brush, weeds and such will be regularly cut down and thus will release any carbon in it.

The hydro power is largely renewable. So outside of legal issues the environmental question becomes a common one. These save the planet cures such as reducing the use of fossil fuels, in this case natural gas i think, are not without an environmental impact of their own.

I guess there can be some questions about such a deal between two countries.

A buddy of mine lives in an area with windmills. He claims the vibrations from them are worse than the azzhats with the booming car radios. At least the booming car radios eventually move on.

Hello; The math appears to predict that most anyplace with enough regular wind is likely to have these farms. So many wind farms will be needed in order to have replacement capacity for fossil fuels that lots of us will get to hear the noise.

.308 or .338 or pick your poison. Just kidding, I would never condone this.

I do wonder how much of the maintenance is from vandalism.

I’m sure there’s been an …hat or two that have run around with an impact and removing the anchoring nuts.

I like Stossel cause he’s an independent and intelligent guy who does his research. The gentleman he had on makes a great point. That with as many people we have on this earth and majority being in 2nd and 3rd world countries. What 1st world countries try to do with “green energy” is negated by the poor peoples needs because of their numbers.

The only way, to truly make an impact, if I understood what he was explaining, about 2nd and 3rd world populations. Would be to:

1. Reduce world population.
2. Get rid of majority of uncontrolled 2nd and 3rd world populations.
3. Control the ability of most of those left to reproduce.

Why? Because poor people will do what ever they need to do to survive. They could care less about saving the world. Maybe I’m wrong but 2/3rd of the world population lives under the poverty line.

On the bright side, at least they’ve given up arguing that climate change isn’t real.
You’re right though, he‘s pretty clever. Does a great job of misdirecting his audience with incomplete facts and (what should be) obvious omissions of facts.
It‘s amazing what can be achieved when you use the right language to persuade an audience who need very little persuading.

I guess you’re right. Just because 80% of the worlds population uses cheap high emissions ice vehicles to include coal, wood, dung and other fuels, for cooking and heating needs, the 20% not driving ICE cars is going to make a difference globally. Glad we made those numbers work out. 😂

Yes, because the numbers look a certain way right now, that means that they’ll always be the same, and therefore, there’s no point in doing anything to change them….

You can do better than that.

Have you ever visited and dealt with third world country people on their level? I don’t think in any of your endeavors you had to. Literally live and deal with these folks daily for months and years on end. I can tell you this, from personal experience, no one is going to change the way destitute people think in places like the continent of Africa or countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan and many other countries in South America. Their daily life consist of doing what ever they need to do in any way possible to put food on the table and feed their families. They don’t care about saving the world for anyone. They care about today and care less about tomorrow. No amount of education is going to change that because that’s the way it is.

What impact do you think you’re going to have in a country like Afghanistan with an illiteracy rate of 98%?
That’s a serious question. I want to know what you would do in a country like that.
