Were you able to keep the rear undertray with the hitch installed? If so any pics of it and details? I’ve been considering the same.

Yeah. I made another post a while ago with pics. But it just needed a little trimming.

I was just thinking about how to get my car to the track with extra wheels. That's the ticket right there. Nice job.

Pack them inside - that's the easiest way - no hitches and no trailers required.

Yea, that probably would work, but my R has that rear seat delete and doesn't allow the rear seats to drop down and make that extra room. But I probably could manage it.

I used to do that on my old ESP Camaro, but quickly went to a trailer. I would not want to get into a wreck with 50lb wheel+tire combos in the cabin with me. Unless you had a way to secure them inside.

Doable with a delete too, just require some more tetrising. Rob's comment above is fair though, I drove to a bunch of events across the country with the wheels in the back and it probably would not be great time if I got rear ended.

Deets on the trailer setup? I'll be doing something similar very soon. Already have the hitch on - did that for a bike rack a while ago.
It's a 20 year old South Sport tire trailer I got for free. Pretty sure they're not made any more, but there is very little tongue weight. So if you're looking for a tire trailer, just keep that in mind. There are a lot of used ones on the market.

Here are my thoughts on trailer vs shoving everything into the trunk, backseat, etc.

-hot and sticky tires pick up EVERYTHING. They come off the car so dirty it would be like throwing a handful of pocket sand in there. (Hopefully someone gets the reference). If you do it often enough, eventually you're going to damage something on the interior.
-limited room for anything else. I can fit luggage for 2 people, or luggage for me for a week, plus a bin for my fire gear and helmet. Waters. Pop up chairs and tent. Cooler. Food. All inside the car.
-Dont want all my equipment unsecured in the car... In the trailer box I've got my jack, 2 stands, wheel chocks, impact, torque wrench, spare pads, tools for that swap, air compressor and gauge, and a ton of other misc crap. All of which LIVES inside that box. No need to mess with packing up my race gear.
-Gives me a secure place for my things when I am on track, or leave the track to go to a hotel, etc. All of my stuff comes out of the car and goes into the box on the trailer, which has a lock. For a multi-day event, I can lock up over night and go to the hotel.
-Small trailers are very manageable. You can still go through drive throughs.

Of course, there are cons... Where is it going to live? Cost (I was lucky and get it for free because it needed more work than it was worth). The hitch is not cheap either.
