Here are my thoughts on trailer vs shoving everything into the trunk, backseat, etc.
-hot and sticky tires pick up EVERYTHING. They come off the car so dirty it would be like throwing a handful of pocket sand in there. (Hopefully someone gets the reference). If you do it often enough...
It's a 20 year old South Sport tire trailer I got for free. Pretty sure they're not made any more, but there is very little tongue weight. So if you're looking for a tire trailer, just keep that in mind. There are a lot of used ones on the market.
Yup, realized what I was doing after I had some coffee. Disconnecting the battery reset my selections for which gauges to show. Rechecked the boxes. Poof. Like magic. Thanks for the reply.
I have a 21 Mach 1 with the digital gauge cluster. In the settings there is an option to "Show Gauges" so you can see additional data. I was working on the driver's seat and disconnected the power. After reconnecting the "Show Gauges" option just gives me a blank screen (between the tach and...
My tire trailer is very well balanced with the tools to counter balance the wheels/tires. WAY less than 200# tongue weight. Empty it is maybe 20 or 30 lbs. I can move it around with a finger. I wouldn't be comfortable with a heavy basket. That being said, I also own SeaSucker rook racks which...
That's good to know! I would very EXTREMELY disappointed if Ford gave me hassle over the hitch, but if I understand warranties correctly, to void a vehicle's warranty they have to be able to prove that the modification or part installed caused the damage. I am guessing this is more of a safety...
These are the only two pictures I have from beneath. Hopefully they're helpful. My current challenge is finding a hitch riser. My tire trailer needs a hitch riser of about 7 inches. The highest I can find is 5 inches. Not exactly the end of the world, but I like it when things work...
UPDATE. As a recap, I ordered the Draw-Tite part number 29428 for Mustangs with active exhaust. It does not bolt into the Mach 1 without trimming, but I with some messing about, it is installed and I am really happy with how it turned out. It is far less noticeable than I expected. No...
Gotcha. I've done that plenty of times with past cars, but I was hoping for some easy gadget that I just didn't know how to use yet. Believe it or not I've had great success with the local Firestone and the lifetime alignment. They don't care if I bring them the car on Friday for the track...
Yeah I have the same one on my HP Mach 1, but finding any information on them has been a challenge. How to adjust them, how much you get out of adjusting them, etc. By comparison, the Camaro ZL1 1LE goes down to -3.7 degrees of camber after you loosen a few bolts and twist the assembly at the...
This is awesome. Thank you for taking the time to write this up. I have been wondering how to do it, but all of my tools are in storage while I move. I have a friend with access to some basic tools, but I didn't want to tackle the project and get half way in then not have the tools to finish...
It's totally doable to get 4 tires in the car, but things get tricky with the jack, air compressor, helmet, overnight bag, pop up tent, cooler, a couple chairs... You run out of room in a hurry. That and I own a tire trailer already, and all of that fits on the trailer with the tool box. Very...
Exactly. If I could haul a small trailer, it really expands the usability of the car. If I want to go to a cabin in NC over the summer, I could haul two bikes and two kayaks for lots of activities with the Mrs. Then I have a sports car for the lovely mountain roads, rather than being stuck with...
I kinda have that already with the suction cup roof rack and luggage box. Being able to haul a trailer is just the best option for a lot of applications.
According to the Curt website: " excluding Mach-1, Shelby, active exhaust, or quad exhaust tips". The Draw Tite at least said for cars with active exhaust, so I am guessing it is the better fitting solution of the two. Guessing being the key word, of course.
I have a Seasucker roof rack gimmick, so in theory that's possible LOL. However, I also wanted to use my bike carrier, or have the option to tow a small trailer for my fishing kayak. The bike weighs 80 lbs (its a fat tire electric bike) and the kayak weighs 110 with all my gear, so loading...
