Hey guys. My 2020 GTCS vert has 19x8.5 wheels that came with the CS package. I forget the exact offset but believe its +40? I am looking at a wheel I love, but it only comes in 20". Can i move to a 20x8.5 +35 wheel without modifications and without any rubbing? The car and suspension are still stock, has not been lowered or anything. So wondered if I could go to the larger wheel.

And if the answer to that is yes, what size tire do I need. I currently have 255 40ZR19 96w. Would i just move to the 275 40ZR20?

Does the wheel come in a size wider than 20x8.5? I think at least 20x10 allows for a decent size tire. I've seen Verts with 20x10 front and 20x11 rear and running 275/35R20 front and either 295/35R20 or 305/35R20 rear. Check out the threads about aftermarket wheels and the ones about aggressive stance wheels and tires. You might even see someone running the wheels that you like. What wheel is it?

I have a set of SVE CFX wheels 20x10 square. I plan on running 285/35r20 all the way around on stock suspension.

This wheel does not come in a wider size, but not really interested in wider size, as I dont want any needed modifications to make them fit, I just wanted to replace the current ones.

This is the wheel:
The Inferno Wheel by Ignite in Candy Red Milled Tips – Strada Wheels

But I have been told by Cardi, a site selling them, that even though the size and offset seems like it should fit the mustang, that it will not without a mod, a wheel spacer at the least, because something about the spokes will hit the calipers or rub the control arms. So prob not going with this one any longer. Its a shame, I am totally in love with this wheel.

Thanks for the reply.

Just an FYI that a 275 tire on an 8.5” wide wheel is going to have some bulge. 255 is really the ideal size. 9.5”-10” wide is the ideal wheel width for 275.

And SVE, Project 6R and a few others are made specifically for the Mustang so they will have proper offsets, hub bores, etc. just an FYI.

I was drawn to the unique design of this rim. I find most of the rims I see on Mustangs to be all the same, and rather boring. This particular rim was very unique to me, which is why I chose it. But will keep looking. And thanks for the tire size info above. I have 255's on my current 19's as well.

Yep, totally get it. Find something you like and enjoy! There’s lots to choose from out there. I’ve heard mixed reviews about buying from them, but check out Fitment Industries website. Put in your vehicle info and it will show everything that will fit your car. Will give you a good idea of what’s out there. Depending on your budget, Rohana, Ferrada and Velgen all make really nice wheels. Some might need hub rings as the bores are too big but those are no big deal. As someone else mentioned, the aggressive fitment thread and the aftermarket wheels threads here have some good pics and specs too.

I have a 2020 GT lowered on Steeda progressive springs one inch all around. Im running Velgen 20s 9 inch rim square. Factory offset of 36 tires are 265/35/20 all around and I have no rubbing at all and fits perfect for me. So I think you will be ok with those rims. I would go 255/35/20 or a 265/35/20 tire though on a 8.5 wide rim.

How is the ride on those 20's?

Not a bad-looking wheel. Just so you know, no modification is needed to fit a wider 20-inch wheel with appropriate-sized tires. You will find that the majority with 20" wheels are running 20x10 fronts and 20x11 rears. The offsets are what really matters. Many are running 275x35 or 285x35 tires on the front and 305x35 or even larger on the rear, while being lowered but without any modifications to make them fit. To me, a tall wheel with skinny tires doesn't look that great.
