Hey everyone,

I picked up a set of SVE R325 wheels from LMR.

19x10 +35mm
19x11 +50mm

I am between two sets of tires and need some advice as far as what the best fit would be.

285/35r19 & 295/35r19 Continental ExtremeContact Sport

or

295/35r19 & 305/35r19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport

I can't find non run-flat Pilot Super Sports in 285/35r19, which is why I am curious about the 295's up front.

Does anyone know if the 295/35r19 would work upfront on a 19x10 with that offset? Stock suspension (Performance Package car). Looking to avoid special alignment or spacers. The closest alternative would be a 285/30r19 but I feel that would be too short of a tire.

If anyone has a similar setup or a preference between tires, I am all ears.

I would personally do the 285/30. Maybe even the 285/35.

A 295/35 might be too wide/too much sidewall for a 10 giving you a lot of bulge. That bulge would adversely affect handling dynamics (which I think you are looking to improve if considering Conti Extremes or MP4S’s).

If in question look up the articles by Billy Johnson pertaining to tires and fitment.

If you always drive in a straight line none of that matters lol.

good luck

Appreciate that. Yes, my goal is definitely to have the right size to minimize sidewall flex in hard cornering.

I’ll check that article out!

Goodyear Supercar 3. But otherwise the Conti's 285/35 and 295/35 or 305/30 will be good. You can put 275/40 on the 10" too. you do NOT want run-flat tires.

I'm sitting on a set of SVE 350s 10s/11s and I'm going with your first choice of Continental ExtremeContact Sport 285/35r19 for the 10s up front & 295/35r19 for the 11s in the rear. Will probably end up using them on both a regular GT and a PP1 GT when the mood strikes. From what I've researched and from the many experienced forum members, those sizes will do just fine.

I’ll check out the Supercar 3’s. Not sure what treadwear rating they are, but I want to stick around 300-340 so I can get a little life out of them.

Yes - I have been scrutinizing tire weight and avoiding runflats.

Awesome. That’s what I’ve been reading as well. I tend to overthink stuff like this, lol.

Just pulled the trigger on tires after a lot of research and reading this awesome article: https://motoiq.com/how-to-properly-select-and-size-tires-for-performance/

I ended up with the following:
275/35r19 (100y) Pilot Super Sport
305/35r19 (102y) Pilot Super Sport

The 275's have a 9.6" tread width, which according to the article will work perfect with the 19x10 wheels and the 305's I believe are 10.6" which will work perfect with the 19x11.

The 275's are nearly 3lbs lighter per tire than my current tires, which will go toward reducing rotational mass. The 305's are 1.6lb more per tire, but there's a lot of additional traction to be gained, so I'm not too bothered by that.

Overall - I am knocking off approx 37.9lbs of rotational mass from the stock PP setup (the PP wheels total 132lbs approx and the LMRs just over 96lbs) and my current 255/40 / 275/40 Indy 500's. I am stoked to have a tire of such great quality as the PSS's!!!

Really great article. Has me rethinking my wheel sizes.
Do you have any good pics of how your tires look mounted on the new wider wheels?

I'm running SVE 350R's 10' up front and 11' in the rear with Nitto 555 G2's 285/305 19's. No poke plug and play.

What aspect ratio on the 305's? I am interested in an eventual wheel upgrade, but I do not want to have an overall diameter in the rear that's larger than my 255/40-19 stock tires. Car is a 3.55 gear and bigger overall diameter makes that even worse. If anything I'd rather a slightly smaller OD.

Thanks man. Car looks great.
What color are your wheels?
I have a black package and all the women in my life (my woman and my daughter) are telling me I have to get black wheels? But what do they know......🙄
I've always preferred gun metal or the darker grey, whatever they call it.
Yours don't look black, but sometimes photos can be deceiving.

The tires are 35 285 19 front, 35 305 19 rear. Don't know what you mean by 'What aspect ratio' .

Thanks. The middle number (35) is the aspect ratio. It isn't a measurement, it's a ratio. That's why a 295/35-19 tire is taller than a 285/35-19 tire. 35 isn't a measurement of height, it's a percentage that represents the ratio of the sidewall's section height to the tire's section width....
