Now’s the perfect opportunity to install bushing inserts. I’ve been waiting for my suspension kit to show up to install mine…
I second the inserts, it helps cut down on the diff noise while still improving the rear end. None of the actual aftermarket bushing replacements control noise as well as the OEM ones.
Already on it :

Just sized up and ordered 12.9 versions of the longer two bolts.

I think I’m leaving the short one as it as it’s not as load bearing as the others, it’s only torqued to 35 lbft and it will be more difficult to to check the torque of a 12.9 cap head when fully installed in that position (looks to be very little spanner space) :like:

Changed out the fuel door to MMD billet aluminum. Took all of 1 minute and that’s with taking a coffee break 🤣
I wanted a simple look. I’m liking it.

Nice. One of the first and easiest mods I did to the car. Once again my wife forced me into it by buying it as a gift after I said no. I love it to now. Same thing happen with the louvers.

I’ll be dropping the cradle to install my FP springs and throwing these in at the same time. The videos I’ve seen make it look like VERY little spanner room.

It's not room for the wrench that's the challenge. It's the length of the short bolt is still too long to get it started in the front location next to the fuel tank.

I found the only way to get it started was with the puck and washer already on the bolt. Then pivot the subassembly upward until the puck seats and the bolt is level to the floor.

I had to drop the cradle a lot. I even made a special set of four 10" long allthread studs for the job.

So yeah, it's as big of hassle as changing rear springs. Disconnecting the exhaust, shocks, sway bar, ride sensor, etc.

Nothing done to mine, but I'm confident I figured out what hit @shogun32's car.

There was a odd piece of plastic on the ground next to the scene of the crime. I checked it for markings which led me on a little google hunt.

Big truck cut the right hand turn too tight and ripped his front corner off.

🧐

Hope there’s some cameras in the area. Nice catch! I had a similar hit
happen to my 06 GT years ago by a truck in a parking lot.
Caught rear bumper and left the scene. Luckily someone saw it happen and I was able to get it fixed.

There's a bank across the street. Hopefully it will be easier to identify now that it was pretty clearly a semi truck; that likely has company markings on it.

It would be great if we can actually track down the truck company, maybe the driver even, and get them to take the financial responsibility of fixing the car vs his insurance. Well at least pass the info to his insurance so they can jump in with their legal department.

I'd get a justice boner for sure. 😁

Edit: Oh and get them to pay for the diminished value on top!

Isn’t it close with the wrench even once you’re past the fuel tank? Looked like it was but maybe I’m mistaken… hopefully its not as much of a nightmare as it looks cause I’ll be doing it in my garage that’s like 110 degrees every day lately…

Personally I'd rather just pay someone to deal with that mess, especially since I've heard of people breaking bolts on removal because the factory goobered it.

Installed Cali Special grille (thanks @Kuma !!!). I think it looks killer. Wife's reaction was priceless.

Wife comes out to my new car in pieces..."What happened? You just got this...why is it in pieces?" Me: "I guess they don't build them like they used to. Good thing I had this cool offset tribar grille sitting around!"

I did a similar thing with my black 2020 GT. I hated the looks of those fangs, so I replaced the grill with a Bullitt style grille and later added a black pony in the center. Pulling the bumper cover off wasn’t too difficult. I’ve done it a couple times now. My wife thought I was nuts altering a brand new car.

Emptied my Ford performance catch can this morning. It's been on the passenger side for over a year and there was very little in it. My SHO accumulates way more in a 6-month period. But now I know it actually works and how often to check it.

bank across the side-street has 3 cameras, 2 of which might have caught it, but probably not the tag. They are pulling the footage and I'll know if success in 2 days.
thanks to @JohnnyGT sleuthing we knew it was an 18 wheeler that hit me. It took some managerial cajoling but the facilities guy went back to the tapes. Incident was caused by Western Express (freight) at 16:21 on 8/29.

Geico initial repair estimate is $10,000.

Geico requested the footage and is going after the carrier. FFX police have been notified the bank has the tapes. I frankly wonder if they will pursue the shipper/driver for hit and run.

The cops should support you on this. They did for us on a hit and run minor bumper scratch. We showed him dashcam video the next day.

If 25 members will chip in $10 each we will buy you a dual dashcam for Christmas.
