I'm hesitant to add a tune to my car because FORD may be able to determine if I added a tune, and then possibly deny my power-train warranty. Based on the Camera forums I was previously on, I heard Chevy was able to determine if a tune was ever added. Can FORD do that?
Yeah, they can tell. Assumption is if you shred a motor, they may look and fight you.

My take on it is, I don't drag race, I don't track, I don't do burnouts. I do drive spirited some times and enjoy the car, but I don't beat on it and I do my maintenance. Long story short if it fails it likely won't be the tunes fault, so I'm gonna take the risk.

You can buy a ford performance tune that comes with a 3/36 warranty so if ford determines/denies warranty due to the FP tune then FP will pick up the repair costs for any powertrain damage that occurred. The coverage is for the first 3/36 from in service date of vehicle not from purchase/install date of FP tune.

So I have the jerky downshifting in D and the lurching from P-R/D R-D etc. with all of this being most noticeable and severe from a cold start.

Can anyone tell me if leaving these “issues” unaddressed will have any negative long term affects? I really don’t want to go to the dealer service if I don’t have to as the entire experience with any of them is usually frustrating and incredibly inconvenient at the least.

I can live with these issues if I have some peace of mind that there is no underlying long term issues in the making or unnecessary excessive wear on the trans.

After some use, my opinion is the Normal and S+ Lund tune is better than the FP tune, and definitely better than OEM.

It's odd, Normal lugs less with Lund than OEM tune. FP wasn't bad here. In S+, Lund seems to have less slamming shifts than FP, and just overall a little better. YMMV. Lund def gets into 9th and 10th gear less aggressively in Normal and S+.

This is good info! Thank you Jason
So are jerky/aggressive downshift in S or S+ smoother?
In general is throttle response better/faster?
Is Paddle shifting better/faster/smoother?

I've been letting the car run a good 10-15 mins before going into S+. On mine, the Lund tune seems to be less aggressive in shifting up and down (how hard it hits) vs the FP and OEM. The FP was an improvement but S+ was still a handful at times. I'm not sure going from FP to Lund is worth the $$$, but I wanted to try. Normal seems less likely to jump into 10th too early/as soon which is great. And the 1-2 shifts in Normal happen too fast, they appear to be more smooth with the Lund.

Its like the Lund tune in S+ still hammers away, but it's more refined maybe is a word for it. If one wanted the FP parts, maybe just buy the TB and CAI and then buy the Lund tune? I have tried paddles except when I was logging for Lund.

Oliver,

I Googled the error code.
A P0771 code means that there is a problem with the shift solenoid E in the automatic transmission. Your car's transmission uses solenoids to automatically adjust the flow of transmission fluid to match driving needs and ensure smooth shifting.

Any time you get a code, your best bet is to go to the dealership and have them diagnose the issue.

Hey just wondering if it is normal for the 10R80 to make clicking sounds when changing between D > N > R and vice versa?

I heard it today when in a car park for the first time. I was up against a wall with my window down, so perhaps that helped with my hearing. I'm stationary in the bay in the video with foot on the brake. You can hear the clicking as I move the shifter (I don't want to say it is a clunk as it isn't that loud).

If it is meant to be silent, any ideas what could be making it before I call up the dealership?

I think I saw another member with the same issue but I can't find their video now annoyingly. They had a click coming from the rear when they were in their garage.

Thanks. :)

PS. I mean I'm thinking it is the trans, but could it be the valve in the exhaust causing the click? Does moving between D > N and R alter the valve on the exhaust? I had the Exhaust in "Track".

I have this same issue and I noticed it for the first time when I was backing into a parking spot in a parking garage and near a wall with my window down, allowing sounds to echo off the wall. I don't think it makes the loud shift click/clunk when going into drive but it did going into park. I have not been able to hear it when in a parking lot.

I would like to know if anyone has had a dealer look at this and if it is normal.

A tune definitely made mine shift better and smother. Although to begin with my A10 has not had such terrible issue. The downshifting was harsh, especially in S+ mode. With my tune it is buttery smooth, and in S+ it just acts like a proper manual.
for those complain about having to wait for the tranny to warm up before engaging in to Sport mode, it only makes sense. I never go in to Sport mode till it warms up, dunno common sense. I’m due for an oil change for my A10. Other than that, it’s been a good tranny…. Tune definitely helped.

what up Chitown!! I went with Juggernaut Performance. Shifts are on point and a lot smoother in both normal and Sport/Sport+ mode. One last thing, my A10 was a bit low on oil initially as well.

Hello yall,

After parking my Mustang for the winter between Nov. 2021 and March 2022, I've been having annoyingly to now dangerous issues with the car. To preface, I have a 2018 Mustang GT Premium with digital cluster, 55,000KM, A10 Speed Transmission, Magneride, and Active Suspension.

At first, I was driving up a windy road around 80kmph and that is the first time back in May, my transmission slipped while in sport mode (S) going up hill from whichever gear it was on to 1 then immediately back to gear. My car felt like it lost and gained power suddenly. After I pulled my car over and put it in park, the engine suddenly shut off then a few seconds later, turned itself back on. This would happen again going home into my condo and attempting to park my vehicle.

I caught it on video after putting my car from P to D back to P slowly.

While driving home on the same day as the incident above, my car suddenly slipped again this time driving around 60-70kmph without any throttle during the same day.

Today (July 31st), while driving again around the same speed again, It slipped again but with much much more frequency. Within a minute, I slipped about 4 times before my car went into limp mode with the wrench symbol showing "SEE MANUAL". I immediately pulled over and tried moving my vehicle but the shift from gear 1 to 2, It was so rough I genuinely thought my transmission was gone. I turned off my car thinking my car was a goner but after about a minute off, I turned it back on and the transmission felt fine again. It happened one more time driving home but due to the long weekend, I cannot bring this car back to Ford until Tuesday.

Luckily my girlfriend was there to film 2 out of 4 transmission slips. After the last one in the video, my car felt undriveable after that.

I've taken my car after the May incident but they found nothing (no codes) and just simply reset my TCM as I complained my transmission felt rough after that day. I will be taking my car back to Ford as I still have 1 more year of drivetrain warranty.

Has anyone gotten anything like this before?

My car (Only springs, wheels and cosmetic mods, stock everything else):

So I've been dicked around by a few dealers where no one can replicate my issue somehow even after leaving the car with a tech for 5 days. I literally had to contact a friend of a friend who was a service advisor at a Ford dealer to get my car in sooner than end of October.

I still have the car right now and I'm driving it in it's current broken state where I cannot drive the car longer than 30minutes without either my transmission dying or a service light going on causing my car to limp mode. I had two more recorded instances here with a gopro:

Only after escalating to Ford Canada, they've agreed they are going to replace my throttle body first to see if this resolves my issue.

I believe I'm the only one that they know of for the mustang, to have this issue ever, so not fun.

My install date is now October 25th after experiencing this since early May this year and finally getting Ford's attention.
