Whipple only extra maintenance required because of the supercharger is changing the supercharger oil every 100k miles.

Any supercharger will be a set and forget.
it's the user that likes poking around.
turbos need attention and maintence

there wasn't any tuning available for the newer models.
Also all coyotes have the same bolt pattern on the heads, intake manifolds can be swapped between the models. Which means any supercharger that will fit a non mach one can fit a mach one or a gt350. obviously the tuning is different

What maintenance do turbos need? I have to admit I'm one of those guys who tinkers so I'm always playing with my car but almost never because of the turbos. I've put 27k miles on my twins in the last year and a half. Only turbo related issue was a pin hole in the intercooler which was more of a defect than a maintenance thing.

Ford with the GT500, Chevy with the ZL1, and Dodge with the Hellcat that they put in damn near every model they offer has achieved OEM reliability so it is possible. I’m wondering what aftermarket set up can approach these type mass produced offerings in terms of power, drivability and reliability.
...dude those are all OEM....

Yup I know. Just saying that forced induction can be reliable and offered to the masses. Just because there’s a blower and 600-700+ hp doesn’t mean it requires constant tweaking and a trunk full of broken parts. That’s what I am looking for. If my goal was 1000+ hp I would expect to have issues but to replicate what the big 3 are offering in regular production vehicles shouldn’t be too difficult. Should it?

I've had Whipple kits on previous vehicles and they are as exactly as you describe. Install in the driveway or home garage in a day, and they come with a pump gas friendly handheld tuner that's very conservative. Truly set it and forget it. I put 10s of thousands of miles on my 2020 F150 with the Whipple on it. Never did anything but put 91 on it. While I've never done the centrifigual route, the positive displacement supercharger is without question "OEM" and there's a reason factory cars don't come with Vortechs, Prochargers.

its not difficult, its just expensive. you can have fast, cheap, or good as long as you only pick two.

here's the thing, you can come up with your own recipe or you can buy something ready made.
ready made is expensive but figuring out your own recipe will cost even more if you want it to have the same level of reliability in all conditions.

if you don't want to incur the risk of modding buy something ready made. that said, the kits available do go through pretty intensive testing so while you won't get OEM reliability in all extreme conditions you are in a much better starting point.

its hotrodding. get a AAA card and another daily if you wanna do it.

Depends on if you abuse the setup. Couplers come loose and/or blow off, checks for the oil not leaking or scavenging correctly, making sure filters are on low mounts so you don't destroy a turbo etc. There is more to do than on a sc. I just check the belts and my methanol on mine and then roll out.

Oh I abuse it daily. Haha. I've never had any of those issues. Maybe I did a great job installing it or maybe I made the right choice spending a few extra buck on the hellion kit instead of cheaping out like i originally thought about. Either way I top my meth off once a week and change my oil every 4k and call it a day.

Are you a sleeper or a top.
For both did you buy the turbo headers?
For sleeper how is the single stage oil pickup?
I'm looking at this kit too but I would have to upgrade the turbos to make my number.

I have the sleeper kit with the stock manifolds. I have the precision 62/66 journal bearing turbos. I have not had any issues with the oil pump/scavenge system.

I guess I can bitch here; but I wish they would have compressor maps.
I would prefer hellion setup but without hellion/precision turbos.
I'll also need manifolds, because I have LTH now. and I will outflow a stock manifold.
I'm kinda in a bad spot with that kit

I'm not sure the stock manifolds are really a restriction to be honest. I think most who had valve float had a restrictive exhaust. I have the boost actuated cutouts on mine. I just got done installing my built 6R80 and Circle D convertor. Hope to get it to the track this fall.

Do you have the mechanical scavenge pump or the electric?

My kit just showed up for my Wife's 18 and it has the mechanical pump which I prefer.
